The Gabba Reciprocal Rights The Gabba Reciprocal Rights 2017 AFL Season The Gabba looks forward to welcoming Members of interstate and international Reciprocal grounds. Reciprocal Rights apply to Members of: • Melbourne Cricket Club (Voting Members only) • Western Australian Cricket Association • South Australian Cricket Association (Provisional members do not have Reciprocal Rights) • Adelaide Oval Football Membership • Sydney Cricket Ground • Tasmanian Cricket Association (including Full members of the NTCA and NWTCA) • ANZ Stadium Club • Etihad Stadium • Marylebone Cricket Club (Lords – United Kingdom) • The Kia Oval (United Kingdom) • Eden Park (New Zealand) Members of these grounds must reside outside of Queensland to be eligible for Reciprocal Rights. Reciprocal rights will not be granted for more than three matches in any one membership year (1 September to 31 August). For all fixtures Reciprocal Members must complete and return a Reciprocal Ticket Application Form at least 48 hours prior to the game day. A limited number of Reciprocal tickets will be available for each match day. Reciprocal Members will be advised if their ticket application is successful or not. Approved tickets may then be purchased on the game day of if a Reciprocal Member has pre purchased public tickets, these may be swapped for Member Reserve tickets from the Members Match Day Office on the game day. Reciprocal Member Tickets and Guest Tickets Reciprocal Members will be eligible to purchase an entry ticket for themselves and will also be able to purchase up to two guest tickets to any match day for which reciprocal rights apply (except where advised otherwise). Tickets Approved Reciprocal Members must attend the Members Match Day Office (located at Gate 5 in Vulture Street opposite Duke Street) from gate opening time on match day to complete the Reciprocal Rights Book, show their current Membership card and provide proof of their current address. Approved Reciprocal Members may purchase tickets for the Members Reserve at the daily admission fee. Event: Adult Junior (6-14) Concession AFL Fixture $55.00* $10.00* $47.00* NB: * Please note that credit card fees will apply. NB: AFL Season - Junior ticketing is available for 6-14 years of age Children 5 years or younger are permitted entry free of charge provided they do not occupy a seat to the detriment of another guest. Ticketing information is correct at the time of going to press. 2 Dress Regulations The Gabba considers it desirable that a reasonable standard of dress, consistent with the prestige of being a member of a major sporting venue, is maintained by both its Members and their guests. The minimum standard of dress is neat, smart casual for both men and women. Males (12 years and over) must wear a collared shirt irrespective of whether or not a collared jacket or sweater is being worn over the shirt. Shorts and pants must be of dress style. Denim is acceptable. Football style shorts, brief or tight shorts, boxer shorts, tracksuit pants or leggings are not acceptable. Swimsuits, midriff tops and clothing with offensive words or symbols are not acceptable. Ragged, torn or unclean clothing is not acceptable. Males: Sandals and “runner” type shoes are permitted providing they are clean and in good condition. Thongs (both rubber and fashion dress), masseurs, scuffs, slides, slippers, ugg boots and dilapidated footwear are NOT acceptable. Females: Fashion shoes (not rubber), sandals and “runner” type shoes are permitted providing they are clean and in good condition. Rubber thongs, masseurs, slippers, ugg boots and dilapidated footwear are NOT acceptable. Notwithstanding the outlined Dress regulations, management reserves the right to refuse entry to the Members Reserve to any person considered not suitably attired. Reciprocal Members will be advised if their ticket application is successful or not. Approved tickets may be purchased on the game day from the Members Match Day Office at Gate 5 Vulture Street. Here is a guide to how the game is played. THE ESSENTIALS The game starts when a field umpire bounces the ball in the middle of the ground. The ball is also bounced in the centre to start each quarter and after a goal has been scored. Games are divided into four quarters of 20 minutes, plus extra time. Teams swap ends after each quarter. There are 22 players in a team and 18 are allowed on the playing field at any one time. THE AIM OF THE GAME It is all about kicking goals. That means kicking the ball through the tall inner sticks (the goalposts) to score six points for your team. If the ball goes between a goalpost and either of the smaller outer sticks, then a behind (worth one point) is scored. The ball play must remain within the boundary line, or else the ball is returned to the umpire to throw the ball back in play. The team that finishes with the biggest total score overall is the winner. Entries are open to all Australian residents that meet the eligibility requirements in Clause 5 and must be lodged by the Close Time of the draw via the promotion post on the Brisbane Lions Facebook page. 5. To be eligible to enter, entrants must be over the age of 18, and do the following: 5.1. Comment on the Brisbane Lions Facebook post and tag a friend to win. 6. The Winner will be drawn at random, from all eligible entries on 13 May 2021. 7. The Prize will be: 7.1. 2 x Reserved Seat tickets to both QCLASH matches in 2021 – Round 9 SUNS v Lions at Metricon Stadium and Round 20 Lions v SUNS at the Gabba. 8. Winners will be notified on the above-mentioned date, by Facebook message. 9. The Winners must make their own way, at their own cost, to and from both QCLASH matches. 10. The Prize is not transferable. The winner must claim their prize by 12.00pm Friday 14th May 2021 or it will be forfeited.
