CONCESSIONS AND BENEFITS EXTENDED BY GOVERNMENT OF TELANGANA

Employment to Ex-Servicemen

2 % reservation in Group III& IV posts in state government. Compassionate appointment to Spouse/Son/daughter/unmarried brother/unmarried sister of the member of Armed Forces Personnel killed/disabled in action. Employment of Ex-Servicemen in Police Department as Special Police Officers. Reservation of 5% of Industrial plots/Sheds for ESM. Pavala Vaddi Scheme for Ex-servicemen and widows of ESM for self employment ventures where ESM has to pay 3% interest on loan and the rest is borne by the Govt. Exemption of exam fee for Competitive Exams conducted by Public Service Commission. Graduation equivalent certificate issued by Armed Forces is acceptable for all Group III &IV Posts in State Government. Relaxation in qualifying marks in Police recruitment to 40% of marks. BENEFITS AND CONCESSIONS PROVIDED BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

Pension

 Personnel who have completed a minimum of 15 years of Service in Armed Forces are eligible for military pension. (20 years for Commissioned Officers)  They are entitled to 50% of reckonable pay as pension plus DA till lifetime.  They are entitled to 50% commutation of pension at the time of retirement.  The commuted amount will be restored after 15 years.  Widows are eligible for Family pension for life time. They will get enhanced rate of pension (same as the husband) for 7 years after the death of their husband or till 65 years of age of the husband, whichever is earlier. Canteen Stores Department  Eligibility :-

Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS)(www.echs.gov.in)

 The following are eligible to become members of ECHS:  Ex-servicemen/Widows who are getting Military pension  Sons below the age of 25 years of age are eligible.  Daughters till marriage or employment whichever is earlier, divorced or widowed dependent daughter are eligible.  Parents whose family income is below Rs. 9000/ per month  Ex-Servicemen/Widow have to apply online www.echs.gov.in for ECHS Smart card and pay the amount as per rules. They should take a print out of the filled online application and get it signed by the nearest OIC, ECHS Polyclinic. ECHS Smart Card will have to be collected from nearest ECHS Cell, Station HQ once message is received on registered mobile number.  Treatment and medicines are provided free of cost in ECHS polyclinic & Military Hospitals  Treatment in referral hospitals is provided free of cost through ECHS polyclinic.  In case of emergency, Ex –Servicemen/Widow can go directly to empanelled hospitals and submit emergency certificate within 24 hours to parent ECHS polyclinic.  Ex –Servicemen/Widow can get treated in non empanelled hospitals in case of emergency and get the entitled amount reimbursed from ECHS polyclinic as per CGHS rates.  In case of emergency, children & parents not dependent on Ex-Servicemen may also be treated in MH on payment basis.  World War II veterans and Widows& Short Service Commissioned Officers are also eligible for certain medical benefits through ECHS & MH.

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR EX-SERVICEMEN/WIDOWS

1) Please keep Original Pension Payment Order(PPO), Discharge Book/Service Certificate & Ex-Servicemen/ Widow ID Card, ECHS Cards and CSD Card in safe custody.

2) Those who retired before 1986 should apply for joint notification for endorsement of their wife’s name in PPO ( Even though it is already endorsed in PPO) through Sainik Welfare Office.

3) Convert your Bank pension account into Joint Account with wife. Name of Wife in Pension Payment Order (PPO) & Bank Account should be same. If not, apply for change of name in Bank.

4) Date of Birth of Ex-Servicemen & Wife should be mentioned in Pension Payment Order (PPO). If not apply through Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer(ZSWO).

5) Apply for publication of Part II order of all children through ZSWO.

6) Apply for endorsing the disability of children in service documents through ZSWO.

7) Please ensure that the Part II order of unmarried/divorced widow daughters are published. 8) Ex-Servicemen whose first wife has died or divorced should intimate Record office through ZSWO. Ex-Servicemen who get married again after death or divorce of First wife should apply to the records office for publication of Part II Order and joint notification through ZSWO.

9) Ex-Servicemen who get married after discharge should apply to the records office for publication of Part II Order through ZSWO.

10) In case your permanent address is different from the address in the Discharge book, please intimate the same to Records office through ZSWO.
