SIXTH FORM & FURTHER EDUCATION COLLEGES 2020-2021

Sixth Form & Further Education Colleges Open Evening 2020-2021 Eden Boys’ School,

Life in the Sixth Form at Camp Hill Boys is both exciting and stimulating. Camp Hill enjoys a national reputation for the academic standards achieved by its Sixth Form students. This is, in no small part, due to the calibre of the students themselves, although they benefit enormously from the high quality teaching they receive, the excellent pastoral support on offer and from the safe and secure environment of the Vicarage Road site.

Sixth Form Virtual Information Evening (See website for details)

The Application Procedure for External Candidates

• Each year, we take in a number of students from other schools. • These students bring a fresh outlook to the Sixth Form and make a major contribution to the life of the school. They figure prominently in the Prefect elections and many turn out for the School in representative matches; virtually all participate enthusiastically in the numerous House activities available. Their academic results are at least as good as, and are often better than, those of our internal students. Perhaps more importantly, they are welcomed into the Sixth Form by their new colleagues and happily settle down socially. • The number of places we offer does vary from year to year and depends on the subject choices made by both Camp Hill students and external applicants. Although we set a minimum of 20, over recent years we have offered over 50 places. Mathematics and Science subjects are extremely popular yet there are always places for students wishing to study Arts or Humanities subjects. • As is the case with our internal candidates, we cannot always guarantee that every option selection will be met, although “the school will go to almost any length to ensure its pupils study the options they have chosen” (Ofsted May 2006). We will, of course, discuss such problems with students if and when they come to light.
