Highlights Adıyaman Kahramanmaraş • On 09 May 2013, AFAD - the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of Government of Turkey announced that the total number of Syrians registered and accommodated in 17 camps in 8 provinces is 193,371 including 335 Syrians receiving medical treatment in hospitals. This is a very slight decrease to the total number of the day before due to more returns than arrivals.

• It was reported by AFAD that the during the 24 hrs of 08-09 May, 243 new arrivals Syrians were registered and accommodated in the camps and 494 Syrians voluntarily returned to Syria. Şanlıurfa

Osmaniye Gaziantep • UNHCR Field Team was informed by the local authorities (AFAD and Aliens Police) in Osmaniye that based Adana on the enumeration conducted by the NGO Platform called Association for Solidarity with Syrians, that there are approximately 2,000 Syrians (500 families) living in Osmaniye and assisted by the platform (coordination mechanism) in Osmaniye. Reportedly, the majority of the Syrians in Osmaniye are ethnic Turcomans. Reportedly there are also some 200 Syrians who are issued Temporary Residence Permit (ikamet) in Kilis Osmaniye province.

• UNHCR Field Team was informed by the Osmaniye camp management that they are expecting to switch the food system to WFP-Kizilay card system to which UNHCR provides kitchen sets, hot plates for cooking, fridge Legend Legend and the shelves through Kizilay. It was observed by UNHCR Team that the preparation of the supermarket is ongoing. The new system is planned to start by mid-May 2013. To ease the transition, the camp management Military Defectors Camp Military Defectors Camp will to continue to provide hot meal distribution during the first few days of the transition.
