A. Person: (Naogaon+Brahmanbaria) • Death: 2+36 = 38 • Injured: 26+388 = 414

B. Family: (Natore+Naogaon+Brahmanbaria) • Heavily affected families: 479+340+1326 =2145 • Partially affected families: 809+3830+402 = 5041 • Total affected families: 2145 + 5041= 7186

C. House: (Natore+Naogaon+Brahmanbaria) • Totally destroyed house: 479+340+2635 =3454 • Partially destroyed house: 809+3830+752 = 5391 • Total destroyed houses: 3454+ 5391 = 8845

D. Others: • 200ft boundary wall and 420ft security wall of Brahmanbaria district prison collapsed • Road communication disrupted due to tumbled trees.

• DDM has deployed two officers along with other three officers (PIO) from adjacent to make list of affected people and to help distribute relief materials. Besides, DDM has sent two emergency pick-up vans to DRRO to expedite the response activities. District Administration has engaged four Additional District Commissioners and two Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO) at Distribution Point to monitor post- disaster relief and rehabilitation activities.

• Brahmanbaria District Primary Education Office distributed 1180 set primary book (Class I - V).

• Brahmanbaria District Education Office distributed 615 set secondary school book (Class VI - X).

• Police department distributed a package of 3 kg Rice, 1 kg Dal and 1 kg Potato among 650 families.

• Public health Directorate repaired 200 tubewell and installed 20 new tubewell.

• REB repaired 12 km of Electric line.

Other Organization’s Response in Brahmanbaria

• World Food Programme (WFP) has distributed 12.33 MT of fortified biscuits among 1644 affected families @ 7.5 kg for each family.

• Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) distributed cash Tk.10,50,000.00 (350 families x Tk.3,000.00) and 700 bundle CI sheet (350 families x 2 bundle) .

• Trust Bank allocated Tk.5,00,000.00

Power Station (APSCL) allocated Tk.5,00,000.00.

• Nova Pharmaceuticals provided 565 packets medicine to the Civil Surgeon for treatment of injured people.

• Society for Social and Technological Group distributed a package of 10kg rice, 2ltr soybean oil, 1kg sugar, 1 kg dal, 1 kg flatten rice, 18pcs CI sheet for each of 100 families.

• BRAC distributing a package of 15kg rice, 1ltr soybean oil, 1kg Salt, 1 kg dal, 2 kg potatoes for each of 1200 families.

• BDRCS distributed among 600 families a package of Tarpaulin 1 pc, water jerry cane 2 pc and family kit 1 pc for each family.

• BGFCL distributed Tk.5000.00 each among 32 HSC candidates.

• Chamber of Commerce distributed utensils among 300 families.

• Other organizations distributed old cloths among 1000 families.

In Addition, Cash Taka, CI Sheet, Utensils, Old cloths, Lamp, Medicine, and Food distribution by different organizations among affected is continuing. [Sources: NDRCC, DDM]

Medical Team Working in Brahmanbaria

The medical teams served for the tornado affected people of Brahmanbaria are -

1. Medical team in district ( by civil surgeon office) : 13 (Thirteen). Total number of patient served as of 01.04.2013: 6366 (six thousand three hundred sixty six).
