ABSTRAK
Sebuah diskriminasi tentang sebuah ras sebagai ras yang lebih rendah atau lebih tinggi dari ras lain adalah Rasisme. Rasisme masih bisa dilihat dan dirasakan sampai hari ini, tidak hanya di kehidupan sehari-hari namun dapat juga dilihat di dalam televisi. Family Guy adalah sebuah serial televisi animasi dewasa yang berada di Amerika Serikat. Seri ini adalah tentang keluarga Griffin dan tindakan mereka yang menyebabkan beberapa kontroversi yang berhubungan dengan ras. Pertunjukan ini bisa dijadikan sumber analisis untuk mengeksplorasi makna dibalik hal yang orang anggap Rasis tersebut. Dengan menggunakan konsep oleh Park, Gabbadon, dan Chernin (2006), tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi humor yang dibuat oleh karakter yang ada di Family Guy untuk mengkritik rasisme terhadap orang Afrika Amerika dan India dalam beberapa episode Family Guy. Apa arti rasisme? Bagaimana humor rasial menggambarkan rasisme? Apa gunanya humor rasial dalam Family Guy? Tulisan ini menggunakan teori identitas untuk mengidentifikasi rasisme, seperti stereotip yang dibuat di beberapa episode Family Guy, yaitu; ; Stuck Together, Torn Apart from season 3 episode 19, Love Blactually - season 7 episode 1, Baby Got Black - season 12 episode 18, A Shot in the Dark - season 14 episode 9, and A road to India - season 14 episode 20. Hasil dari temuan ini adalah bahwa humor digunakan sebagai platform hiburan bagi para penonton -ketika mereka juga merenungkan dan merefleksikan diri mereka sendiri.

ABSTRACT
Discrimination towards a race as inferior or superior to other races is called Racism. Racism can still be seen and felt until this day, not just in everyday life but can also be seen on television as well. Family Guy is an adult animated television series which airs in the United States. This series is about the Griffin family and their actions which leads to some controversy that relates to race. This show could be used as a source of analysis to explore the meaning behind the things people think as racist. By using Park, Gabbadon, and Chernin (2006) framework, this paper aims to explore the humor that is made by the characters in Family Guy to criticize racism towards African American and Indians in some episodes of Family Guy. What does racism mean? How does racial humor portray racism? What is the use of racial humor in Family Guy? This paper uses identity theory to identify racism, such as stereotypes that are being made in a few episodes of Family Guy; Stuck Together, Torn Apart from season 3 episode 19, Love Blactually - season 7 episode 1, Baby Got Black - season 12 episode 18, A Shot in the Dark - season 14 episode 9, and A road to India - season 14 episode 20. The result of this finding is that humor is being used as a platform of entertainment for the audience - while they are reflecting back at themselves.
