Where Dreams Take Flight

Annual Report July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018 A New Thing

God is doing a new thing at United Theological Seminary! And you are making it happen!

Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” At United, we perceive it. We’ve come out of a season of transition. Thanks to your prayers, generosity and encouragement of prospective students, our enrollment and finances are stronger. Our innovative faculty are creating new programs and continuing to prepare our students to bring renewal to the Church. God is doing a new thing!

At the same time it’s something old and rooted in the historic Christian faith. The same God who created the world, who was doing something new in the time of Isaiah, is living and active today.

As we prepare for United’s 150-year anniversary on October 11, 2021 and actively work to pay off the mortgage, we are reminded of the faithfulness of the saints who have gone before us. We give thanks for those in the United Brethren in Christ, Evangelical Association, Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist churches and the many other denominations who have invested in preparing faithful, fruitful pastors and Christian leaders for nearly a century and a half. Thank you!

May the articles you read about the new things God is doing through United, our students and our alumni/ae encourage you. God is “mak[ing] a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert!”

Thank you!
