20 21 STATEMENT BY MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE INDEPENDENT AUDIT REPORT Your committee members submit the financial report of the WEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY FOOTBALL LEAGUE for the financial year ended 31 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE WEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY FOOTBALL LEAGUE October 2020.

Report on the Financial Report Committee Members I have audited the accompanying financial report, being a special purpose financial report, of WEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

(the association), which comprises the balance sheet as at 31 October 2020, profit and loss statement for the year then ended, notes comprising The name of each member of the committee during the year and if different, at the date of the report; a summary of significant accounting policies and other explanatory information, and the statement by members of the committee.

JOHN SHADBOLT Committee’s Responsibility for the Financial Report IAN STANLEY The committee of the association is responsible for the preparation of the financial report that gives a true and fair view in accordance with GREG BAIRD Australian Accounting Standards (including the Australian Accounting Interpretations) and the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 and for such JOE BURTON internal control as the committee determines is necessary to enable the preparation of the financial report that gives a true and fair view and is COLIN COX free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.

GEOFF DAVIS Auditor’s Responsibility NOEL MIGUEL My responsibility is to express an opinion on the financial report based on my audit. I conducted my audit in accordance with Australian Auditing BRENDON SIMPSON Standards. Those standards require that I comply with relevant ethical requirements relating to audit engagements and plan and perform the audit BARRY TATE to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial report is free from material misstatement. GRANT WOODHAMS An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the financial report. The procedures Principal Activities selected depend on the auditor’s judgment, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the financial report, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal control relevant to the entity’s preparation of the financial report The principal activities of the association during the financial year were: that gives a true and fair view in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the entity’s internal control. An audit also includes evaluating the appropriateness of accounting policies used To promote, develop, manage, and represent country football in particular Australian Rules Football. Conducting all acts and deeds considered and the reasonableness of accounting estimates made by the committee, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the financial report. conductive to the interest of the game of football. I believe that the audit evidence I have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for my audit opinion.

Significant Changes Independence

In conducting my audit, I followed applicable independence requirements of Australian professional ethical pronouncements. No significant change in the nature of these activities occurred during the year. Auditor’s Opinion Operating Result In my opinion:

The profit of the association after providing for income tax amounted to $122,655 The financial report of WEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY FOOTBALL LEAGUE is in accordance with the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 including:

Signed in accordance with a resolution of the Members of the Committee. (i) giving a true and fair view of the Association’s financial position as at 31 October 2020 and of their performance and cash flows for the year ended on that date; and (ii) complying with the Australian Accounting Standards.

The financial report also complies with International Financial Reporting Standards as disclosed in Note 1.

Emphasis of Matter As is common for organisations of this type, it is not practical for WEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY FOOTBALL LEAGUE to maintain an effective JOHN SHADBOLT system of internal control over the cash takings until their initial entry in the accounting records. Accordingly, my testing in relation to these President activities was limited to amounts recorded.

In my opinion, except for the effects of such adjustments as might have been determined to be necessary had the limitation discussed in the preceding paragraph not existed, the financial report presents fairly in accordance with the accounting policies described in Note 1 to the financial report and the results of its operations and its cash flows for the year.
