PLAYER INFORMATION COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP POLICIES The PNW Four-Ball Championship Committee cares deeply about the health, safety, and well-being of our players, as well as everyone at our host facilities. The intent of the policies and guidelines is to minimize potential exposure to COVID-19 by utilizing publicly available guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), but the Committee cannot guarantee a risk-free environment. Everyone is responsible to do their part by following these guidelines to make our championships as safe as possible. The policies and procedures may be updated and/or modified at any time. Before arriving on-site for a practice round or championship, if you feel sick or show any symptoms of COVID-19, or if within the last fourteen days you have felt sick, have shown any symptoms of COVID-19, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19, we request that you stay home and notify us before your starting time. If you are unable to start the championship due to any of these, a refund will be granted. Social distancing must be practiced at all times by maintaining a minimum 6-foot distance from others. A mask or facial covering should be worn when a 6-foot distance cannot be met and may be required in some areas in accordance with Washington State guidelines (including entering clubhouse or F&B areas). Wash your hands frequently. If you are unable to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer will be available on the starting tee and at the scoring area. Gatherings are prohibited –players are asked to leave the host facility after their round is complete unless dining in designated areas. If there is a possibility you might be in a playoff, we ask that you still leave the host facility, and we will contact you well in advance with instructions on returning to the host facility that same day. Players are asked to refrain from handshakes, hugs, and high-fives. Practice range stations will be spaced to promote social distancing. Practice balls will be set out at each station, and practice putting green cups will be removed or modified. Additional restrictions will be enforced during competition; please reference the Local Rules section. Traditional paper scoreboards have been eliminated to reduce areas of player and spectator congestion. TV leaderboards will be utilized at certain championships. WHEN COMPETITION IS FINAL There will be a brief awards ceremony immediately upon completion of play following COVID-19 Championship Policies. The competition is final when the trophy has been presented to the winner or, in the absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the committee. POSTING Due to the nature of the events, and not having hole-by-hole scores for all players, we are unable to post scores to the GHIN Handicap System. We will post the adjusted slope and rating on the tournament results page and players must post to GHIN their most likely scores on the day of competition using the adjusted slope and rating provided. LOCAL RULES Local rules unique to each facility will be provided at each course prior to the start of play. EVENT LOCAL RULE - FLAGSTICK For the safety and well-being of all, the flagstick is to not be touched and must remain in the hole at all times. A player is prohibited from making a stroke with the flagstick knowingly removed from the hole or has authorized someone to attend the flagstick and makes a stroke with the flagstick removed. EVENT LOCAL RULE - BUNKERS In alignment of COVID-19 golfing restart rules the committee has decided to remove all bunker rakes from the course. Per USGA suggestion we will played preferred lies which would allow a player to place the ball elsewhere in a bunker without penalty. A ball that comes to rest in a bunker may be marked, lifted, cleaned and dropped within one club length, no nearer the hole. Before being lifted, the spot of the ball must be marked· The ball must be dropped from knee height and both land in and come to rest within the relief area within the bunker. The area in which a player intends to drop may not be improved in any way, including smoothing, raking, kicking or any other action that will materially improve the conditions of their stroke. The act of using a club to measure the one club-length area is permitted, provided it is done in a reasonable way and does not materially improve the area in which the player intends to drop. Upon exiting the bunker, players should make the best effort possible to fill and smooth all footprints. PACE OF PLAY POLICY We want all players to enjoy competing in the PNW Four-Ball Championship. Pace of play may differ depending upon the venue, weather and course conditions. Every player is accountable for playing at an acceptable pace; therefore we need your help. Please observe the following guidelines to help ensure a pleasant tournament experience for all: Make sure to keep pace with the group in FRONT of you. The group behind should keep pace with your group and so forth.
