The summer season is over for another year and our attention turns to indoor cricket for the winter. Last year’s indoor league provided a tense finish with SCC ending up as the winners of Division 2, so this year we are up against the likes of , Hythe and Sibton Park. All matches are at the Three Hills Sports Park (Folkestone CC) and you are welcome to watch the action;

 October 13th at 2.00 – beat Selsted  October 27th at 5.45 – Saltwood beat Mersham Le Hatch  November 10th at 4.30 – v Saltwood  November 24th at 7.00 – Sibton Park v Saltwood  December 8th at 4.30 – Tilmanstone Ravens v Saltwood  December 22nd at 7.00 – Wye v Saltwood  January 5th at 5.45 – Stowting v Saltwood  January 19th at 3.15 – Elham Valley v Saltwood  February 2nd at 4.30 – Folkestone v Saltwood

Dates for the indoor practice sessions in March and April will follow as soon as they are booked up.

Your ‘50 Club’ application form is on the next page so please take the time to buy some tickets and support the club. Its £10 a ticket and there are 13 prizes on offer in December. All profits will go towards paying the many costs that the club has. We need to raise £1000 for some work on the trees at the ground and here are just some of the bills that we rack up every year;

 Insurance - £1300  Water & Rates - £250  Light & Heat - £300  Outfield Mowing - £1000  Wicket Repairs - £550  League & Association Fees - £500

We’re on the look-out for more volunteers to help with coaching and groundwork next season so please let me know if you can help. Just one hour a week would make a big difference to the few members that currently do most of the work.

Our current sponsorship deals with John Williams Roofing and Red Dragon IT are coming to an end this year so if you know of any companies that might be interested in sponsoring the club please let me know.

Saltwood Cricket Club 50 Club

We hope you will be able to support the club by entering this year’s 50 Club draw which helps us to raise the funds we need to keep the club going.

If you have not entered the draw before then this is how it works: Entries cost £10.00 each and 50% of the total takings are returned in prizes. The object is to raise a minimum of 50 entries in which case £250.00 will be distributed in prizes, and £250.00 raised for club funds.

The prizes will be distributed in three draws, the first two draws will have four prizes £25.00, £15.00, £12.50, £10.00 and the final draw five prizes £50.00, £30.00, £20.00, £15.00, £10.00. Obviously if more entries are raised then prizes will be bigger.

To enter please complete the slip below and return with your cheque made payable to Saltwood Cricket Club no later than Monday 15th November.

Draws will take place at the Castle Hotel, Saltwood at 8.00pm on Sunday 1st, 8th & 15th December – all welcome. You will be notified of your entry number(s) and total prize fund by post or email. This is a private lottery and is open to all members and friends of Saltwood CC over 16 years of age.
