Key to superfamilies, subfamilies, genera and species have also been provided. (1990): Grylloptera and Orthoptera s. str. from Nepal and Darjeeling in the Zoologische Staatssammlung München. - Spixiana 13/2: 149—182 A list of 79 species and subspecies of Grylloptera and Orthoptera from Nepal and Darjeeling in the collection of the Zoologische Staatssammlung München is given. Most of the material has been collected during the Dierl- Forster-Schacht expeditions to Nepal in 1964, 1967, and 1973. One genus and seven species are new to science. Keys to the species of Orthelimaea and Gryllotalpidae of Nepal and India are provided. New descriptions: Teratura maculata, spec. nov. (Meconematidae); Elimaea (Orthelimaea) himalayana, spec. nov., Isopsera spinosa, spec. nov., Isopsera caligula, spec. nov. (Phaneropteridae); Gryllotalpa pygmaea, spec. nov. (Gryllotalpidae); Nepalocaryanda latifrons, gen. nov. & spec. nov., Chorthippus (Glyptobothrus) dierli, spec. nov. (Acrididae). New synonyms: Serrifemora Liu, 1981 = Sikkimiana Uvarov, 1940, Serrifemora antennata Liu, 1981 = Sikkimiana darjeelingensis 1. Bolivar, 1914. Xenocatantops brachycerus Willemse (Orthoptera: Acrididae) is an economically important grasshopper species that is reared in China. Using the IlluminaHiSeqTM 4000 platform, three transcriptomes of the adult male, adult female, and nymph of X. brachycerus were sequenced. A total of 133,194,848 clean reads were obtained and de novo assembled into 43,187 unigenes with an average length of 964 bp (N50 of 1799 bp); of these, 24,717 (57.23%) unigenes matched known proteins. Based on these annotations, many putative transcripts related to X. brachycerus growth, development, environmental adaptability, and metabolism of nutritional components and bioactive components were identified. In addition, the expression profiles of all three transcriptome datasets were analyzed, and many differentially expressed genes were detected using RSEM and PossionDis. Unigenes. One of the insects that can be easily found is grasshoppers. Areas with upland areas usually have lower locust diversity and abundance when compared to lowland areas. This research was conducted in 5 locations that were used as locust sampling sites in Malang district including SumberPujung sub-district (234-346), Bantur district (46-321) masl, Lawang sub-district (426-446) masl, Pujon sub-district (1184-1246) masl and Poncokususmo sub-district (1228-1482 masl). Each location was made 5 stations by making a transect line at each station with 3 replications. Grasshopper samples were collected using line transect and hand collecting methods with direct sampling using insect nets which were carried out at 09.00 WIB and 16.00 WIB. The abiotic factors observed included temperature, light intensity, wind speed and humidity, while the biotic factors observed in this study were plant vegetation at each station, and the presence of predators. Data were analyzed using species abundance analysis, Shannon Wiener index, evenness index, importance value index, dominance index and Jaccard similarity index to evaluate the proportion of the same species between sites and Biplot analysis to determine the Pearson correlation of each species to abiotic factors.
