FOOD FOR THOUGHT (continued) MESSAGE NOTES

4. In your opinion, what does it mean to “personify the GOOD NEWS”? Why does that // Week 3 even matter? 2 things to wrestle with:

1. What HAPPENED to the GOOD NEWS?

You are the … let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14, 16

2. Our responsibility is to PERSONIFY the GOOD NEWS!

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any 5. Why is it so critical to understand the difference between “belief” and “action”? fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. In your relationships with one another, you must have the same attitude that Christ had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Philippians 2:1-8 6. As you think about the 4 ways discussed to personify the GOOD NEWS, which one could you specifically put into practice to make your light shine a little brighter this season? Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases APOLOGIZE IMMEDIATELY him. Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked FORGIVE QUICKLY and perverse people. Philippians 2:12-15

DEFER HABITUALLY 4 ways to personify the GOOD NEWS:

GIVE SACRIFICIALLY 1. APOLOGIZE immediately

2. FORGIVE quickly. 7. What did you personally need to hear the most from this message?

3. DEFER habitually.

4. GIVE sacrificially.

VERSE TO REMEMBER: Don’t be afraid! I bring you GOOD NEWS that will bring GREAT JOY to ALL PEOPLE. The Savior - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born today in , the city of David! Luke 2:10-11
