Utah 79, UND 67 and playing again.” 12/21/12: *N. Colorado 75, at UND 66 ON NC GAME: “They’ve got a lot of talent. I picked 12/28/12: at UND 56, Bowling Green 63 them in the top three or four. It’s young talent, but the 1/3/13: *UND 66, at Idaho State 53 (Derrick) Barden kid is averaging dang near a double- 1/5/13: at *Weber State 95, UND 63 double (10.9/7.3). They’ve got some pieces to the puzzle, 1/10/13: vs. *Montana and they are still trying to develop and jell. 1/12/13: vs. *Montana State

“What we’re going to hope for is to go out and have a GRIZ-UND NEXT MEETING successful road trip and develop some momentum, because when we come back (to Missoula) we have a nice little 2/7/13: *at Montana home stand. (UM’s next four games after this road trip are all in Dahlberg Arena). So, it’s a big trip for us. We’ve *Big Sky Conference game had some really good ball games down to the wire in Greeley, and we’ll expect nothing different this time.”

ON HIS TEAM’S 4-0 BIG SKY START & THE LEAGUE RACE: “We’ve done our job and got out of the gate. We did have the two early road wins (at NAU and at Sac State), which I think will bode well for us on this trip. We know what went into those two victories.

“Then we have a nice little four-game stretch at home. It’s still too early to cause a ton of seperation (in the league race), but we certainly can build some momentum for the second half of conference, which will be here before we know it.”

ON THE GRIZ SO FAR THIS SEASON: “Our team has really changed from week-to-week with some of the injuries and illnesses that we’ve had. Will’s been back, but today Jordan Gregory takes one (was injured) on the knee, and we don’t know what his outlook is going to be. We’ve got illness right now, with ‘Hutch’ (junior center Eric Hutchison), who was not on the floor today because of an illness.

“It seems like this year we’ve had to deal with a lot of adversity. But the one thing that we haven’t done is really get freaked out about it. We’ve continued to roll with the punches. If we don’t have certain guys on game night, we’ll come with some other guys and ask them to step up. That’s kind of become the ‘MO’ of this team. No matter who is thrown out there, they are expected to do the job. I think if we can hang in there, and stay resilient, it’s going to make us tougher for the stretch run later in the year.” Griz Basketball Notes Page 7 A RECAP OF UM’S LAST TWO GAMES: 2012-13 BIG SKY CONFERENCE BASKETBALL STANDINGS (Through games of Jan. 5, 2013) At Montana 81, EWU Eagles 66 : Jordan Gregory and Spencer Coleman Team BigSky: W-L-Pct.
