Call for your co-operation

During our works we ask that you allow extra time for your journeys, particularly at peak times, and pay close attention to all traffic and advanced warning signs.

Motorists and cyclists should also be aware that there will be Streets Ahead staff and construction vehicles on the highway whilst work is taking place. I write to congratulate your department for the fine work that you have started in the Fulwood Whitely Woods area. The new road surface is superb as are the more refined streetlights above it. The sodium yellow has been replaced with more efficient white diode lights that are brighter and more pleasing to the eye. The kerbs have also been replaced and problem trees removed. The entire area will benefit from revised facilities once it is all complete. I understand the difficulties of replacing and revising these services whilst not causing too much disruption to the folk who live in the area, and I believe that you are providing a good service without disruption to the citizens of Sheffield. There has been considerable restoration work in The Porter Valley too, with new bridges to replace old ones and a great deal of repairs to the stone bridge over the River Porter. Eroded river banks have also been repaired. All in all, you appear to be doing a great job around the area - well done. Keep up the good work and I look forward to its completion.
