Brief description of project Anticipated start date

A series of online tutorials and resources to help Jul-20 people learn a range of traditional Cornish folk songs in various parts. A longer term aim to bring people together during the COVID-19 Crisis and set them up for a more social gathering when the social distancing restrictions are lifted. A self-guided trail for families, offering creative 04/08/2020 things to discover and do along the Cober Valley – from Lowertown, through the Moors beside the river, to the boating lake, Penrose and Loe Bar. Vegetation clearance on adjacent pathways and 01/10/2020 repair of fencing To produce, over 2 weeks in September 2021, 01/11/2020 large scale outdoor community productions of all three Cornish 14th Century Ordinalia miracle plays, in their original medieval historic setting of the Plen an Gwari, St Just - the oldest outdoor working theatre space in Britain.

Building on the connections already established 01/09/2020 through Operation Overlord this project would now like to work with the community that is connected to Trebah to collate and share Trebah’s wider story. Through informally held conversations and public callouts for documents and photographs in partnership with Trebah, this would pull together this fascinating estate’s 200- year history and then donate the findings, documents etc to the collections at for future generations to easily access. Snapshots in Time (SIT) is a digital project that will 31/10/2020 allow dissemination of some of the heritage of

Reenactment of the Battle of Helhill to 01/01/2021 commemorate its 1300th anniversary in 2022 We are a LGBTQ Cornish history research project, 02/11/2020 we hope to research the oft forgotten stories of Cornwalls queer history and share these on our queer kernow website. The overarching aim of the project is to conserve 01/11/2020 a small number of scheduled monuments in Cornwall so that their condition is improved and they can be removed from the Heritage at Risk register. A secondary aim will be to provide public value by involving volunteers in activities and training wherever possible and improving access to information on the sites as appropriate. Social media will be actively used throughout the project to publicise and increase awareness of the work. Six scheduled monuments will benefit, representing a range of periods and site types, from a Neolithic henge to a medieval holy well and two significant Bronze Age barrow groups.

The Friends of Millbrook Chapel of Rest was formed 01/12/2020 in 2017 and now after 3 years of fundraising, have purchased the chapel from the Church of . The long term aim is to repair and restore it; re opening as a community space, primarily as a Heritage and Educational Centre. The chapel has remained unused by the church sinnce 2010 and although structurally sound is in a state of poor repair. The next phase of the project is to begin repairs to ensure the building is weatherproof for the winter. Immediate work is needed to replace slipped and cracked slates on the roof, to repair rain water goods and drainage, to replace facias and barges and to redocorate externally.

The Quoit sign is old, out of date and damaged. 01/01/2020 Parish would like assistance on updating it to reflect recent finds on the site and to mend or replace the existing sign To place a lectern in the centre of the village with 04/01/2021 an informative history of this ancient village, to make both locals and visitors alike aware of how important Tywardreath was from pre Roman times through the Medieval Ages, with its Priory, the mining, the railways and much more. Also ,how the landscape and history has changed To stage a heritage celebration at the heart of a 13/09/2021 village which is itself in the middle of a World Heritage Site for Mining. This will remember and celebrate a story of very local people and their families and educate local children and adults alike about the real, unvarnished story of tin and its impacts on local people and places. To create greater interest in our local heritage amongst locals and "incomers" alike, so as to build interest in and support for greater heritage activity in our area To write a book entitled The Word and the Shaping Aug-20 of Cornwall: Stones, Scriptures and Playscripts, which will discuss the significance of the written artefacts (inscribed stones including the newly discovered inscriptions, Scripture and servicebooks, Playscripts and Saints’ Lives) of Cornwall from c.200-1550. Many of these contain the earliest examples of the (the Bodmin Gospels, the Old Cornish Vocabulary, the Ordinalia, Beunans Ke and Beunans Meriasek). This will appear to coincide with the exhibition of two iconic manuscripts, featured in the book, which will return on loan to Kresen Kernow in 2021.

Over the years we have collected a variety of 01/02/2021 artefacts relating to the Mid Cornwall area eg banners, wall plaques, historical documents and photographs, musical instruments. We would like to develop a space within the building to preserve and display our growing number of artefacts. We would also like to develop a performance space for singers and musicians to perform traditional Cornish music and heritage lectures. The building itself is a decommissioned chapel and is in need of some work to treat damp and to replace a section of the flooring that also suffers from damp. This is the area that we would like to improve to house the museum and to develop the performance area. The Rosebud project aim is to combine original 19/01/2021 music and film bring the story of 's Rosebud to a new and wider audience - and to draw parallels with the ongoing need for community action in matters of social justice. During construction of an access slipway onto 01/04/2021 Seaton beach a number of damaged concrete tank traps were exposed, measuring originally about 1.2m square by 2.4m high. The aim of our project is to re-site three or four nearby as a display and provide an information board. A series of public engagement activities 01/05/2021 accumulating in a (15min) documentary video capturing the fascinating history and Archaeology of the St Austell China Clay Area. The project has been brought about to help engage, educate and preserve the St Austell China Clay Landscape, increase appreciate and knowledge, beyond the china clay history, taking it back to its neolithic origin. The Compass Point Project aims to save the Storm 08/02/2021 Tower on Efford Down, Bude from falling into the sea due to ongoing coastal erosion. As well as moving the structure we are looking to build an interactive exhibition at The Castle Heritage Centre, Bude highlighting the importance of the structure, its history and the significant importance it plays in our heritage. In addition we hope to provide educational information for the local community and visitors to the area on the ongoing coastal erosion and climate challenges faced by coastal communities.

To produce a Brenda Wootton songbook and 2 01/01/2021 CDs entirely of her Cornish language recordings, most of which were composed by Richard Gendall; many are unpublished. The book to include 3 sets of lyrics in English, Richard’s original Cornish and SWF. 2 songs to be recorded by guest artists Gwenno and Hilary Coleman. Brenda was the first person to sing in Cornish abroad, and pledged to sing at least one song in Cornish at every concert, which she did at her performances around the world.
