Marriage is the exact culture to express the fact that Hong Kong is a melting pot of Eastern and Western characteristics. Dragon and phoenix bangles are the representatives for Chinese culture. I used the initial of East and West to put inside the Chinese word of East and West to show that dragon and phoenix can merge together despite they are different. Dragon & Phoenix Bangle represents the fusion of Chinese and Western culture. Thus, showing the feelings of Vibrant Hong Kong.

The flower-shaped glass, condensed milk, red beans, ice, milk with a scoop of ice-cream are the perfect match! The taste of childhood memories are within every bite! The culture of HK style restaurant must be one of Hong Kong characteristics. Not only those creative local beverages and snacks, the most unforgettable one is definitely red bean ice with ice-cream. Pearl as the ice-cream, ruby as the red beans, plus a pear-shaped gem dangling on a twisted straw as if taking a sip from the drink. We wish this ring would recall people their sweet childhood memories.

About the vibrant Hong Kong, I love to use pearls, fishes, bubbles and fishnet to represent the nature purity of the old seaport. About the materials and techniques, there are 18K white / yellow / rose gold with setting stone in colored sapphires, diamonds and pearls. Specially the fishes are clasp on the incurved fishnet which enhance the movement. As a result, the colored moving fishes decorate the blue sea softly. The flowing memories of today and yesterday, fulfill my love at seaport.

Kowloon Walled City is one of the most important declared monuments in Hong Kong. In the 1940s, the walled city kept expanding, with a great numbers of tiny apartment blocks constructed without contributions from the architects. The walled city was once thought to be the most densely populated place on earth. But though it may have been a fetid slum, it is better known for its lawlessness. The 18K gold bracelet depicts the buildings with uneven heights, while diamonds and ruby shine like myriad twinkling lights of the walled city.

The annual Hong Kong Tai Hang fire dragon dance began in 1880, and is on China’s third national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. According to local legend, after a typhoon and plague wreaked havoc on the village, followed shortly by a python killing their livestock, a fortune-teller provided a solution. It was decreed that the only way to stop the chaos would be to stage a fire dance for three days and nights – and thus the tradition was born.

The water village in Tai O is one of the unique sceneries in Hong Kong and has earned the reputation of “Oriental Venice”. The shacks on the crown are shown with different colors, symbolizing the richness of the life of the fishermen in Tai O, and they represent the close relationship, interdependence and kindliness between neighborhoods as the core value. From day to day, the fishermen need to overcome waves and storms, big and small, and where they rest are the real and solid shacks which link to the sea. The design concept of this crown is precisely the close relationship between the shacks and the sea, each are indispensable and they fuse as one.

My home town Hong Kong is a myth. Hong Kong is a former fishing port and now becomes a cosmopolitan city with so much energy. I design my bracelet in Hong Kong style. International architecture and former fishing port will be carved in wood. It shows the change of time in Hong Kong with such modern and antique Hong Kong portray (carved in wood). I choose wood as my main material for my bracelet because it is tough and vintage. Every piece of wood is unique to me and it represents the symbolic of life and energy. With the texture of wood, it makes them the most suitable material to tell the historical story of Hong Kong.
香港由昔日純樸的漁港風貌轉型至如今五光十色國際金融城市，充滿傳奇色彩，一直被形 容為「神話」。 這次我設計的手鐲，希望能把香港特色風貌融入設計中。一面香港維多利亞港建築；一面 是舊漁港風景，新舊的香港互相映襯記錄香港歷史。 手鐲的材料我選用木元素，每一塊木都是獨一無二，是有生命的活體。木頭細膩堅突又有 懷舊的味道，在木上雕刻香港風貌我認為最適合不過，記錄著香港的故事。 The 19th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition 第十九屆香港珠寶設計比賽
