To celebrate the new association, Richard Mille has launched a limited-edition watch, the RM 011 Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph Yas Marina Circuit unveiled at the circuit on Thursday 24 of March. The RM 011 has been first developed by Richard Mille in collaboration with Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa. It features a flyback chronograph, an annular calendar function, 60-minute countdown timer, oversized date 12- hour totalizer and a case design combining a titanium central case band with a white gold bezel and bottom case. For this special occasion, RM 011 Yas Marina Circuit has been now presented in an exclusive Yas Marina- coloured livery with a bright blue inner bezel and a white rubber strap. Only ten of the 18k white gold watches will be produced and they are available exclusively through Yas Marina Circuit. ITALIAN CHEF CARLO CRACCO NEW PARTNER OF RICHARD MILLE Richard Mille is delighted to welcome Italian Michelin-Starred Chef Carlo Cracco to its elite stable of Brand Partners. Carlo Cracco is regarded by many as one of the masters of contemporary Italian Cuisine with two Michelin Stars, three Gambero Rosso ‘forks’ as well as being given an exceptional 18,5/20 from the Italian magazine L’Espresso. He started his professional career in 1986 with Gualtiero Marchesi, who is considered to be the founder of Italian Modern Cuisine. He then moved to France to join Alain Ducasse (Hotel de Paris, Monaco) and Lucas Cartons (Senderens, Paris) refining his culinary skills and learning the secrets of French Haute Cuisine. In 1991 he moved back to Italy to be the Head Chef at Enoteca Pinchiorri, Florence, which was awarded three Michelin Stars. Gualtiero Marchesi then offered him the honour of opening his new restaurant, L’Albereta in Erbusco where Cracco was chef for the following three years. In 1996 Cracco decided to open his own restaurant, Le Clivie, in Piobesi D’Alba. The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star a year later. The year 2000 represented a turning point in Cracco’s career; he accepted the invite of the Stoppani family (owners of the famous Peck delicatessen in Milan since 1883) to become Chef Excutive of a new joint venture; the restaurant Cracco-Peck. In 2001 he saw his dream come true when the restaurant got awarded two Michelin Stars, three ‘forks’ from the Gambero Rosso guide and 18,5/20 from the Italian magazine L’Espresso. -

In answering the question, why do the officers of pub- he libraries and bibliophiles so highly esteem and strive to make collections of old calendars and almanacs, it may be said that the calendar was coeval with and had a great influence upon civilization. Indeed, the slow but gradual formation of what we know as a calendar is an excellent illustration of the progress of civilization. At first it was a very crude scheme for recording the passing of time, deduced from irregular observations of the rising and setting of a few fixed stars, by a people who had but recently emerged from barbarism. The resultant table was of very little value and required constant revision and correction. It was only by long and patient study and observation, by gaining knowledge from repeated failures, that finally was produced the accurate and scientific register, which today bears the name of calendar. Furthermore, the material and shape of the tablet upon which the calendar was engraved or printed, was a constant .temptation to artists to decorate it with pen- cil or brush, which caused it to become a valuable me- dium for inculcating in the minds of the people, ideas of the sublime and beautiful, and never more so than at the present time. As regards the almanac, it also is of ancient memory, as we have positive evidence of its existence more than twelve hundred years before the Christian era. Article Calendar as a Criterion in the Study of Culture Marija Šegan-Radonji´c 1,‡ and Stevo Šegan 2,‡ 1 Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts 2 Department of Mathematics, State University of Novi Pazar Abstract: The paper considers the calendar as a link between the cosmos and mankind, and it introduces it as an instrument in studying culture. It uses the concept of calendars/calendar systems as a criterion for recognition and formation of culture in general. Starting from an assumption that the calendar is a structurally organized system of events or holidays, it analyses the basic units of a calendar: day, month and year, and distinguishes a calendar holiday from a non-calendar holiday. It states that the calendars are a structural list of collective memory within a social group, where this memory is described in cyclical categories – calendar holidays. Furthermore, considering that the initial epoch of year counting may be different in different cultures, it discusses how cultural self-awareness is expressed through the epoch of the calendar era. Finally, it explores how and to what extent the formation, interaction, and reforms of calendars and their systems reflect the change in culture. The paper concludes that calendars and their systems should be used as a criterion in defining culture. Keywords: Calendar; Culture. 1. Introduction Culture, as a notion, can be considered in a narrower and a broader sense1, and some theoreticians have succeeded to identify as many as 164 definitions of this phenomenon [2]. Furthermore, modern science strives to comprehend and describe this phenomenon as generally as possible, and the new complex disciplines, such as the problem of culture typology (criterion) [3], have appeared and been developed. -

Press release Zurich/Geneva, 3 December 2020 Global Powers of Luxury Goods: Swiss luxury goods companies started the year of crisis on a high With the highest net profit margin, Swiss luxury goods companies outperformed their international competitors in 2019, which gave them a head start into a difficult 2020. Especially in the subcategory for jewellery and watches, Swiss companies continue to shine, accounting for 32% of all companies in this sector in this year's Deloitte Global Powers of Luxury Goods Top 100 ranking. With two companies in the top 10 and a total of 10 companies, one up from the previous year, Switzerland generated 13.2% of luxury goods sales of the top 100 companies. While almost all the Swiss companies continued to grow, Swatch Group saw negative growth of 3% and dropped from 8th to 10th place in this year's ranking. At the same time, Swiss luxury watchmaker Richard Mille raced to the top of the 20 fastest-growing companies, recording impressive growth of 200%. The COVID-19 pandemic has walloped luxury goods manufacturers. Travel restrictions and shops closures across the globe during the lockdown caused massive falls in traditional retail sales. Despite the promising news of several effective vaccines on the horizon, a rapid end to the crisis seems unlikely. The good news, however, is that 2019 was a good year for luxury goods companies in Switzerland, giving them a good starting position for a difficult 2020. At 16.2%, Switzerland had the highest net profit margin out of all the countries in the top 100 and recorded a year-on-year luxury goods sales growth rate of 6.9%, an increase of 1.8 percentage points on the previous year. -
