MOTION FOR ELECTION TO THE NATIONAL TIGER CONSERVATION AUTHORITY

SHRI JAIRAM RAMESH to move the following Motion:— “That in pursuance of clause (c) of sub-section (2) of Section 38L, read with sub-section (3) of Section 38M of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 (No.53 of 1972), as amended in 2006, this House do proceed to elect, in such manner as the Chairman may direct, one Member from amongst the Members of the House, to be a member of the National Tiger Conservation Authority in the vacancy caused due to the retirement of Shri Santosh Bagrodia from the membership of Rajya Sabha on 4th July, 2010.“ ————

SHRI JAIRAM RAMESH to make a statement regarding status of implementation of recommendations contained in the One Hundred and Ninety- second Report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests. ______

43 The Pesticides 4. SHRI to move that the Bill to regulate the import, Management manufacture, export, sale, transport, distribution, quality and use of pesticides with Bill, 2008 a view to— (i) control pests; (ii) ensure availability of quality pesticides; (iii) allow its use only after assessing its efficacy and safety; (iv) minimize the contamination of agricultural commodities by pesticide residues; (v) create awareness among users regarding safe and judicious use of pesticides, and to take necessary measures to continue, restrict or prohibit the use of pesticides on reassessment with a view to prevent its risk on human beings, animals or environment, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, be taken into consideration.
