Customer Services Enquiry No.: Logged by: Love Clean Streets on: 17/12/2019 16:55 Officer: Mick Norris (CRA)[BW] Service: `Love West Sussex Subject: Drainage Problem Classification: Request for service Enquiry Ref: Desc.: Dear Sir or Madam

This is the second time I have written but have yet to receive any response. Bashurst Hill is prone to flooding when there is heavy rain, when it does so the rain rushed down the hill bringing large amounts of debris with it. The current drainage set up outside the front of our house is not fit for purpose in a number of ways.

i) The drainaage culverts which are designed to move the water off the road and into a ditch running along the front border of our house do not work sufficiently, instead the water largely runs past and then down into our drive and into our garage

ii) The water that is gathered into the ditch is unable to flow down as: a) The ditch needs digging out as is full of silt and debris either side our drive and along our boundary b) The pipes it needs to flow through are blocked and of insufficient diameter to take the high volumes of water

Please can you send someone to assess and rectify this as soon as possible Extra information supplied by the user The drainage issue affects... : Part of road The drainage problem is caused by... : A blocked ditch Has this area been flooded before? : Yes The flood water is such that the way is... : Passable but with care Location: Willow Cottage Bashurst Hill, Horsham, RH13 0NY Contact: Enquiry No.: Logged by: Web Enquiries on: 22/11/2019 07:33 Officer: Steve Douglas (ASC)[CD] Service: Information request Subject: Callback requested Classification: Request for information Desc.: Hello - I recently submitted an enquiry about this junction of Bashurst Hill with Five Oaks Road (A264). It’s one of the most dangerous junctions I’ve come across and there can be little more than a second between deciding to turn right (from Bashurst Hill) and a car rushing round the bend. It needs urgent attention before there is a terrible accident. I think a did call me about this a few months back but I have heard nothing since. I may need to speak to the MP to get some action on this.
