You can access AAdvantage Hot Spots weekly offers online at www.aa.com/hotspots. Here you will find a list of featured regions that offer ample seating over the next thirty days. With the holidays and colder weather around the corner, now is the time to book early for more choices. Book your AAdvantage award online at AA.com, and as an added benefit, you will earn 1,000 AAdvantage bonus miles for each round trip booking. Visit www.aa.com/aadvantage for complete details regarding award travel.

Give Miles and Help a Child

When you donate unused miles to the Miles For Kids In Need® program, you can make a real difference in a child’s life. And did you know that American Airlines adds one mile for every three miles donated? That makes your gift go even further!

Chase Hamilton (pictured) is one of thousands of children in the Miles For Kids In Need program. At only three months old, he was among the youngest recipients and, as you can see, also among the cutest. Having suffered a brachial plexus injury at birth, Chase traveled with his parents from Chicago to Houston so that he could be evaluated by doctors specializing in Erb’s Palsy nerve reconstruction. His surgery was completed and he is now home recovering. Hopefully, Chase won’t even remember having a problem with his shoulder.

Chase’s dad recently wrote American Airlines the following note that represents many of the notes that the Miles For Kids In Need program receives:

“The Miles For Kids In Need program is wonderful. I want to thank you and American Airlines for giving my wife and me the opportunity to give our son the best care in the world. Without your program, I doubt that this would have been possible. So, thank you again.”

Of course, American Airlines couldn’t maintain the Miles For Kids In Need program without the generosity of AAdvantage members, who donate the majority of the miles. Traditionally, summer is a very busy time for the Miles For Kids In Need program. Parents and doctors take this break from school to schedule many elective medical/surgical procedures, and the Miles For Kids In Need mileage contributions literally fly away. This past summer was no exception, as our reserve is running low.

So, if you can help us replenish the Miles For Kids In Need mileage balance, you’ll definitely brighten the lives of some sick kids and their families.

To donate unused AAdvantage miles, visit www.aa.com/milesforkids or call AAdvantage Customer Service at 1-800-421-0600.

A Guide to Earning Miles on Rail Systems in Europe

When traveling in Europe, enjoy the convenience of high-speed train travel while earning AAdvantage miles on SNCF French Railways, Thalys Railways, and German Rail. As an added benefit, miles earned on American's codeshare service count toward elite-status qualification. SNCF French Railways — 500 AAdvantage miles per rail segment

American Airlines codeshare service with SNCF French Railways provides highspeed rail service to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and 12 cities in France. Take American Airlines from Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, or New York JFK to Paris Charles de Gaulle and connect to:

Angers Lille Nantes Avignon Lyon Part-Dieu Poiters Bordeaux Marseille Rennes Le Mans Montpellier St. Pierre des Corps/Tours Thalys Railways — 250 AAdvantage miles per rail segment

American’s codeshare service with Thalys Railways provides high-speed rail service to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle and the Brussels, Belgium City Center. Fly American from Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, or New York JFK to Paris and take Thalys Railways to Brussels. You can then fly back from Brussels to Chicago, or take the rail back to Paris Charles de Gaulle and earn another 250 AAdvantage miles.

German Rail Service – 250 AAdvantage miles per rail segment

American’s codeshare service with German Rail Service includes travel to and from Frankfurt Airport and 10 cities in Germany. Fly American from Chicago or Dallas/Fort Worth nonstop to Frankfurt, then connect to:

Bonn Dusseldorf Hamburg Mannheim Nuremburg Cologne Freiburg Hanover Munich Stuttgart

In order to earn miles, the rail ticket must show an American Airlines flight number. To ensure that your rail ticket will reflect the American Airlines code, make your online reservations at www.aa.com/reservations. And be sure to provide your AAdvantage number when you make your reservations with American Airlines or your travel planner.

Note: You can earn miles on American’s codeshare service operated by SNCF French Railways, Thalys Railways, or German Rail Service; however, since they are not members of the AAdvantage program, you may not redeem miles for travel on American’s codeshare service operated by these rail companies.

View Terms and Conditions Return to Top Terms and Conditions: American Airlines may, in its discretion, change the AAdvantage program rules, regulations, travel awards, and special offers at any time with or without notice. This means that the accumulation of mileage credit does not entitle members to any vested rights with respect to such mileage credits, awards, or program benefits. In accumulating mileage or awards, members may not rely upon the continued availability of any award or award level, and members may not be able to obtain all offered awards for all destinations or on all flights. Any award may be withdrawn or subject to increased mileage requirements or new restrictions at any time. American Airlines may, among other things, (i) withdraw, limit, modify, or cancel any award; (ii) change program benefits, mileage levels, participant affiliations, conditions of participation, rules for earning, redeeming, retaining, or forfeiting mileage credits, or rules for the use of travel awards; or (iii) add travel embargo dates, limit the number of seats available for award travel (including, but not limited to, allocating no seats on certain flights), or otherwise restrict the continued availability of travel awards or special offers. American Airlines may make any one or more of these changes at any time even though such changes may affect your ability to use the mileage credit or awards that you have already accumulated.
