• Verbal Reasoning 50 mins (Multiple Choice) 20%

• Mathematics 50 mins (Multiple Choice) 40%

• English (extended writing) – usually an essay 40 mins plus 10 mins planning 40% Medway Test (11+)

• Once all three papers have been marked, the raw scores are converted to standardised scores. These standardised scores will be weighted to reflect the child’s age when they sat the test. • English and Maths are then doubled and then added to the verbal reasoning to provide a weighted standardised score. • The minimum score can change year to year. • You will know the result of the Medway test (7 October) before you have to complete the SCAF form (31 October) so can name schools accordingly. The test

• The Medway test is for admission to Medway grammar schools only and the Kent test is for admission for Kent grammar schools only. • The results of either test are not transferable between authorities, although individual schools/academies may determine to accept the test assessment from another authority as part of their published admission arrangements.
