Tv Guide Entertainment Network Gets Local With Yahoo! TVGEN's Localized TV Programming Grids Now Available On Yahoo!, Yahoo!'s Metro Sites and Get Local Service New York, NY -- February 27, 1997 -- TV Guide Entertainment Network (TVGEN, www.tvguide.com), the Internet's leading source for information on , movies, music and sports, and Yahoo!, the leading guide to the Internet, today announced a partnership that will provide users of Yahoo!'s Get Local zip code-specific directories with TV Guide Online's local TV listings, the most complete television database on the Internet. The grids will be found at http://tvguide.yahoo.com/tvguide. Under the alliance, the Internet's only all-local television programming grids from TVGEN's newly launched web site will be added to Yahoo!'s Get Local service, which covers 40,000 zip codes in 30,000 cities. From the Get Local home page, users simply enter their zip code to receive extensive information relevant to the community, including a television grid for the area with local cable shows and newscasts. Clicking on a particular program on the grid will link the user to the TVGEN web site, where detailed information on the program, its actors and director can be found.
