First ﬂ own in July, 1937, the Focke-Wulf Fw 200 was among the best long-range aircraft in the world. During WWII, the “C-4 Condor” variant evolved into a bomber and sea reconnaissance plane for the Luftwaffe. Some of its most important uses included tracking convoys and transmitting enemy coordinates to German submarines. Unique features found on the C-4 version included 13 mm MG131 machine guns and FuG Rostock search radar. Although 275 were built, only one complete model exists today. It is currently undergoing restoration at the Technical Museum in Berlin.

1/32 SCALE ARADO AR 196 Hunt down enemy warships with this Kriegsmarine favorite.

Highly effective in the air and on water, the Arado Ar 196 seaplane entered service with the German Navy in 1939. It was mostly used for patrol and reconnaissance missions, but the Ar 196 was often employed to track down enemy warships as well. When pursuing submarines, small bombs were placed underneath the Ar 196’s wings. Once production had ceased in 1944, 541 aircraft were built in all. Its tough, reliable chassis was produced by Volkswagen, while the ultra-modern engine was provided by Audi®. In June, 1976, the GTI version was introduced, with an Audi 80 GTE engine which featured a mechanical fuel injection system and a 110 hp rating. Production of the Scirocco I ceased in February, 1981, with 504,153 total vehicles manufactured.

First fl own in 1976, Hughes Helicopters developed the 500MD Defender in response to the success of the OH-6 Cayuse in Vietnam. As time went on, the Defender was modifi ed for various uses, including anti-tank warfare, nighttime attacks and for maritime combat. It was most famously used by Israel’s Air Force in the 1970s and 1980s in confl icts against Syrian armored forces.
