Co m p l i a n c e St a t e m e n t As a community committed to following Christian principles in every aspect of College life, Wheaton College pursues excellence in athletics within the framework of institutional control and operational integrity. According to NCAA rules that govern Wheaton athletics, compliance extends beyond students and faculty at Wheaton to include alumni, parents, friends and other boosters who have any stake in the institution as indicated by status as a former athlete, donor to the College’s athletic program, arranger of employment for athletes or promoter of athletics. Once identified as institutional representatives of athletic interests, those individuals retain the status for life. Members of the athletics staff and representative of the athletics interest are prohibited from providing any extra benefit to a prospective or current athlete or acquaintance which is not available to the general student body of Wheaton. Ultimately, Wheaton College is responsible for actions by those who are classified as institutional representatives.

Fr o m t h e Di r e ct o r o f At h l e t i c s At Wheaton, athletic participation is at the heart of a Wheaton education. Here, student-athletes learn basic life skills and Christian values in an integrated learning environment. Discipline, team play, perseverance and service are part of a regimen experienced in the crucible of competition that enhances physical, mental and spiritual development. On a daily basis, students encounter situations that provide opportunities to learn, not only on their own, but also through mentoring by Christian coaches who have dedicated their lives to developing young men and women for Christ and His Kingdom. Participating in Wheaton athletics provides education for a lifetime. Tony Ladd, Director of Athletics

Fr o m t h e Commissioner ’s Of f i c e With the help and support of our fans, member institutions, administrators, coaches and student-athletes, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin enters the 2008-09 academic year as its 63rd season of competition, 23rd for women’s sports. The CCIW, recognized as one of the “Best Small-College Conferences in the Nation,” has seen its share of success throughout its time, with 32 NCAA Division III national championships in nine different sports won by our member schools. Since the 1991-92 academic year, the CCIW has remained consistent in its membership with eight academically superior in- stitutions, including Augustana, Carthage, Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, North Central, North Park and Wheaton. In 2007, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, located in Terre Haute, Ind., joined the CCIW as an associate member for men’s and women’s swimming. The CCIW, which sponsors 21 sports, has carried a long tradition of excellence dating back to its inception in 1946, helping student-athletes grow in their athletic as well as educational experience. The CCIW looks to continue that tradition and remains dedicated to helping our student-athletes towards success. On behalf of the CCIW and its member schools, we would like to thank you for the support of our athletic teams and hope you enjoy your experience at all CCIW events.

Sincerely,

Chris Martin, Commissioner Mike Krizman, Asst. Commissioner
