Made of solid wood or upholstered, the armchair is both functional and beautifully finished. 8

COLLECTOR’S PIECE DIZ Armchair

SERGIO RODRIGUES

The Diz armchair was designed by Brazilian furniture master Sergio Rodrigues in 2002.

Through the use of robust woods and ergonomic lines, Rodrigues has clearly set himself apart with a recognisable Brazilian style – this piece is a perfect example. 9

BARTS SQUARE Collection 2

COLLECTOR’S PIECE Oyster Chair and Footstool

PIERRE PAULIN

One of the first designs in the Classic Collection and the easy chair of the Sixties. The chromed metal base is so minimalist that the wooden seating shell seems to float.

The Oyster was in the Artifort collection until 1979 and, by request, Artifort brought it back into the collection in 1999. 13

BARTS SQUARE Collection 3

A serene palette of muted colours and balanced pieces. Natural and classic white highlights are complemented by grounded forms. Pattern is used to create highlights in the scheme. 14

HERO PIECE Pilot Chair

BARBER + OSGERBY

Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in 2015, the Pilot Chair is innovative yet incredibly comfortable.

The strongly cantilevered frame gives the piece a visual and material lightness, creating a sense that you are floating. With a large amount of flexibility in its construction, the back panel curves to your body shape. 16

COLLECTOR’S PIECE EJ 100 Ox Chair

HANS J. WEGNER

As strong and distinctive as a bull, the Ox chair from 1960 is padded, covered with oxhide or fabric and raised off the floor by light but strong legs in chromium-plated steel. This design feature makes it possible to sit comfortably in many different ways so that one can change position continuously.

It was Wegner’s own favourite chair at home. 17

BARTS SQUARE Collection 4

A relaxed palette with graphic linear finishes. This combines richly textured fabrics and leathers. Materiality is key in combining simple and intricate forms, adding subtle elegance. 18

COLLECTION 4: KEY PIECES
