WTC: Now we segue into the season of Lent. Let’s talk about Lent and living out this Lent in Amarillo, Texas, USA. Bishop Zurek: Lent always begins with the dramatic, symbolic call to conversion. It reminds us of Christ’s victory over death and the urgent call to conversion. The first Hispanic First Lady of Texas, Cecilia Abbott’s story reminds everyone that the American Dream is alive and well in Texas. Abbott has 20 been a teacher, vice-principal and principal at several Catholic schools across Texas. She studied at the University of Texas at Austin before subsequently earning three degrees from the University of St. Thomas in Years Houston: a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Theology.
