there were 40 Mustangs total CVMC News participating in 5 laps around the track for $20. Each of us took turns driving our Stangs into the Winner’s Circle and snapping a few pics. Tommy Wilson, Donnie Brown, Ralph Robbins, Dave Dickey, and I attended from CVMC. On Thursday, I didn’t realize it but I was asked to lead the group and was making suggestions on the fly for the day. We drove down Route 5, checked out Shirley Plantation, ate at

the Old Chickahominy House and then THE TRAIL TO MUSTANG on to Jamestown to see the replica ships. WEEK WITH THE GREAT AMERICAN PONY DRIVE

I had a fabulous time with the 2012 Great American Pony Drive. Participants came from New Zealand, Alaska, Canada, Florida, Texas, and Michigan. I was immediately welcomed into the group and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know every interesting participant including David Turnbull, the drive organizer. On Friday, again leading the group, we drove to Norfolk to see the USS Wisconsin and took an educational Naval Ship cruise along the Chesapeake Bay. We unfortunately had a mishap on the Wisconsin, one of the Pony Drivers broke her arm tripping on a protruding piece of metal and falling into some anchor chain. They had to cut their trip short and head back home to Florida.

I invited the Pony Drivers to my I joined the Pony Drive in house in Lanexa for snacks and drinks. on parts in their parts department Monday was a serious driving day through Nags Head, Ocracoke and on to Jacksonville, NC. The Canadians had transmission trouble (no 2nd and 4th gear, yikes), John drove straight through to Jacksonville while his wife Lynn rode with me. She really wanted to see Nags Head. We had a bunch of fun singing disco tunes with the top down! We stopped at Kitty Hawk and drove straight through worried we would miss the 4:00 ferry to Cedar MCA Ocean State Island. It was a beautiful day!
