THE FAIR AT THE PNE UNVEILS ELECTRIFYING SUMMER NIGHT CONCERTS LINEUP

Vancouver, BC – Summer’s biggest concerts are right around the corner, as The Fair at the PNE’s Summer Night Concerts are set to take the stage at the PNE Amphitheatre nightly, this August. An eagerly anticipated part of The Fair at the PNE, this year’s Summer Night Concerts feature an exciting array of artists that are sure to please fans of all genres. Whether you’re a fan of the oldies, dancing with pop stars, rocking out, or getting down to R&B legends, the 2016 Summer Night Concerts have something for you!

The Summer Night Concerts will run nightly at 8:30pm* in the PNE Amphitheatre, starting Saturday, August 20 with KiSS RADiO WHAM BAM featuring Hedley, and will close Monday, September 5 at 8:30pm with ‘Wicked Games’ crooner Chris Isaak!

Saturday, August 20 – KiSS RADiO WHAM BAM featuring Hedley KiSS Radio WHAM BAM is a one-day pop music celebration, featuring hometown heroes Hedley and a full lineup of live performers to be announced over the coming months. This year, for the first time ever, the one-day pop music event KiSS Radio WHAM BAM is coming to . *2-10 PM, KiSS RADiO WHAM BAM concert-goers must purchase Fair Gate admission in addition to concert tickets to gain entrance to the PNE Amphitheatre. The concert will not be free with Fair Gate admission.

Sunday, August 21 – & The Beautiful Gypsies Alan Doyle, actor, producer, newly-minted best-selling author, and best known as lead singer of Newfoundland's beloved Great Big Sea, released his second solo album, So Let's Go, in 2015. Title-track "So Let's Go" is a rousing rallying cry that's only further proof of Doyle's ability to draw the listener under his banner.

Tuesday, August 23 – The Sheepdogs Trends come and go, styles fall in and out of fashion, but The Sheepdogs remain steadfast in their commitment to rock n' roll excellence. Since their inception, the band has always sought to play the kind of music they themselves love: "Pure, simple, good-time music," as singer/guitarist Ewan Currie puts it. It's no surprise, then, that the band's fifth LP, Future Nostalgia, is firmly rooted in the rock tradition that listeners have come to expect from the boys.

Wednesday, August 24 – Steve Miller Band Steve Miller has delivered hit after hit since his days as part of the psychedelic San Francisco movement of the 60s, and throughout the rocking 70s: "The Joker," "Livin' in the USA," "Take the Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner," "Jungle Love," and "Abracadabra" among them. To this day, these songs are instantly recognizable when they come on the radio – and impossible not to sing along to.

Tuesday, August 30 – MONSTER TRUCK With a no-frills style that mixes groove, sludge, stoner rock, and vintage sounds, the high-energy combo has made friends in high places by celebrating the simplest and also the finest things in life. In the time since their debut, they have played blistering shows supporting the mighty Guns n’ Roses, Slash, Alice in Chains, ZZ Top, Buckcherry, Rival Sons and Vista Chino.

Wednesday, August 31 – A Tribe Called Red Bursting forth from Canada's capital, native Producer/DJ crew A Tribe Called Red is producing a truly unique sound that's impacting the global electronic scene and urban club culture. Since 2010 the group – currently made up of DJ NDN, Bear Witness and 2oolman – has been mixing traditional pow wow vocals and drumming with cutting-edge electronic music.

Sunday, September 4 – The Monkees - GOOD TIMES: THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR The Monkees celebrate their fiftieth anniversary with a tour of North America (featuring original members Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork) and the release of their first album in nearly 20 years, Good Times!, featuring a previously unreleased recording of a song entitled Love to Love written by Neil Diamond in the 1960s. In less than a year, The Monkees enjoyed 12 Top 40 hits, including three number ones, Last Train To Clarksville, I'm A Believer and Daydream Believer.

Monday, September 5 – Chris Isaak Isaak, who has a reputation as a supreme showman and one of the funniest live performers today, is a non- stop touring Grammy nominated singer-, actor and talk show host. With his stellar bandmates, Silvertone, Isaak's haunting voice, fierce guitar, and glittered outfits, Isaak has entertained fans for decades.

General Admission to Summer Night Concerts is FREE** with admission to the Fair.

Concerts are FREE with admission but starting Friday, May 27 at 10am, super fans will have the opportunity to purchase a limited number of reserved seats starting at just $15. Reserved seats can be purchased online or onsite from the ticket booth located outside the venue entrance within the fairgrounds.

**KiSS RADiO WHAM BAM concert-goers must purchase Fair Gate admission in addition to concert tickets to gain entrance to the PNE Amphitheatre. The concert will not be free with Fair Gate admission.

About the PNE Owned by the City of Vancouver, the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is a healthy and vibrant non-profit organization dedicated to providing millions of visitors with first-class cultural, sporting and family entertainment events. Founded in 1910, the PNE operates from a 114-acre site at Hastings Park, a multi-facility venue in Vancouver where the organization operates four activity streams: an annual 15-day Fair, Playland Amusement Park, maintenance and care of the Hastings Park site and management of the site’s year-round facilities. These facilities are utilized to celebrate a variety of amateur sporting, music, community, social, cultural and commercial events throughout the year.
