Creative Diversity Awards 2017: shortlist announced

The Creative Diversity Network (CDN) today revealed the shortlist for its 2017 awards. The awards reward outstanding quality, creativity and diversity in television that represents all aspects of British society. They are designed to acknowledge outstanding work both on and off-screen and serve to showcase exciting talent.

This year’s categories include Outstanding Programme in each of the Drama, Comedy, Entertainment, Factual and News and Current Affairs genres. The shortlisted entries were all chosen for demonstrating content that challenges stereotypes and is thought provoking, offering a chance for under-represented groups to tell their own stories.

The second set of awards is dedicated to Change Makers. The individuals, channels and companies were shortlisted for widening the understanding of diversity and championing culture change across the television industry - on and off screen.

Deborah Williams, CDN Executive Director said TBC: “The judges had a hard job shortlisting for our 2017 awards from a wealth of entries across broadcasters and online platforms. I’m particularly pleased to see the full breadth of Britain’s diversity reflected amongst the shortlisted programmes and individuals we’re announcing today.
