COUNTY OF COVID-19 UPDATE – April 1, 2020 Emergency Laulima Partnership

• Maui Economic Opportunity is NOW ACCEPTING applications for financial assistance. • The County of Maui allocated $2 million to the program to assist families who have lost jobs due to COVID-19. • This would help pay for essential needs, like food, rent, utilities and medicine. • People who qualify: • Show 25% or more reduction in income after March 4, 2020. • Have less than $5,000 in liquid assets. HOW TO APPLY: • Application guidelines and list of required supporting documentation available online at www.meoinc.org. • Applications can also be dropped off at secured drop boxes: • Front parking lot of MEO Office at 99 Mahalani Street, Wailuku • Front entrance of Kalana O Maui (County) Building in Wailuku • and Lanai may submit applications online or at their local MEO office: • Molokai – 380 Kolepa Place, Kaunakakai • Lanai – 1144 Ilima #102, Lanai City • If you don’t have access to internet, call 249-2990 or 249-2980 and an application can be mailed to you. Hawaii COVID-19 Counts - UPDATE

As of Noon 4/1/20: • 1 new case on Maui • 34 new cases statewide • Total Statewide confirmed cases are 258. • Maui’s total confirmed cases is 26. • NO confirmed cases for Molokai and Lanai. Inter-Island Travel Quarantine - UPDATE

• Mandatory 14-day inter-island travel quarantine went into effect TODAY, April 1, 2020. • Applies to anyone returning home from non-essential travel to other islands. • It DOES NOT apply to any person or activity deemed essential, including: • People getting medical treatment, such as chemotherapy • Infrastructure/Construction work • First responders • Doctors, nurses and all healthcare providers • Agriculture workers • Emergency management personnel Inter-Island Travel Quarantine – UPDATE (Cont.)

• It DOES NOT apply to any person or activity deemed essential, including: • Individuals providing essential food or supplies • Maintenance service providers necessary to maintain safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and businesses, including plumbers, electricians, and exterminators. • Media and communications personnel • All travelers are recommended to WEAR A MASK. Reduction in Flights and Ferry

• Primary concern is for the critical needs of our Maui, Molokai and Lanai residents. • Mayor Victorino spoke with about our residents who have to go to for their medical needs. • Also talking with Expeditions Lanai, Makani Kai Air and about servicing our Molokai and Lanai residents. • County is committed to ensuring there is enough food, medical supplies and other critical resources for residents on all islands. Keep up the Good Work

• Continue staying at home and working from home as much as possible. • Maui Police have done education and issued warnings. They are now giving citations.
