Khalid – Everything Is Changing (Album) American singer and songwriter, Khalid Donnel Robinson, known simply as Khalid, has announced his upcoming third studio album “Everything Is Changing.” His most known hits are “Talk”, “Better”, “Love Lies” and “Young Dumb & Broke”; and his most known collaborations are with Benny Blanco. The Texas singer-songwriter’s new album, which is due out at the end of the year, follows 2019’s ‘Free Spirit’ and is about finding “a purpose and a sense of self in a world where everything is digitally connected but emotionally disconnected”. Khalid pointed out that he was “inspired by how I was feeling during the pandemic and the emotional toll that quarantine took on me and my friends”. Advertisement “As we all come out of quarantine and venture more into the world and try to reconnect with people we haven’t seen in over a year, I hope the messages explored within the album open up conversations and allow people to access their feelings in a new way,” he said in a statement. With New Normal, Khalid seems to say he is no longer the starry-eyed, love-soaked teenager, rather is battling like everyone else to live through the present world struggling with the lingering effects of a pandemic and rapid-fire political dictatorships and social revolutions. The airy summer jam which complements the upcoming album scheduled for release at the last quarter of the year. In addition to announcing the album, Khalid also shared a futuristic video for his latest single, ‘New Normal’, which he first premiered during a live performance at Virgin Galactic’s Unity 22 Spaceflight launch last week. In the Andy Hines-directed video, Khalid, sporting blue and purple dyed hair, steps out from a space-age-looking vehicle and enters his apartment building. As he walks up to his apartment, he passes delivery drones and a number of huge indoor plants. The rest of the video sees Khalid singing and dancing in his apartment as he waters his plants. In March 2017, Khalid released his debut studio album, American Teen. The album spawned the US top-20 singles “Location” and “Young Dumb & Broke”, and was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Later that year he was featured on Logic’s US top-ten single, “1-800-273-8255”, with Alessia Cara, which earned him a Grammy Award for Song of the Year nomination. The following year Khalid released the number-one pop songs, “Love Lies” with Normani and “Eastside” with Benny Blanco and Halsey, both of which tied the record for longest charting songs on the Mainstream Top 40 chart and reached the top-10 on the Billboard Hot 100. In September 2018, Khalid released the number-one Rhythmic song, “Better”, as the lead single from his top-10 EP, Suncity. When I had no legal documents to edit and no individual advising to do (which was quite frequently) I would sit at my desk, (like some old character out of a Charles Dickens’ novel) and prepare language materials to be used for helping professionals who had learned English as a second language—for even up to fifteen years in school—but who were still unable to follow a movie in English, understand the World News on TV, or converse in a colloquial style, because they’d never had a chance to hear and learn com- mon, everyday expressions such as, “It’s a done deal!” or “Drop whatever you’re doing.” Because misunderstandings of such idioms and expressions frequently caused miscom- munication between our management teams and foreign clients, I was asked to try to as- sist.   • Mikky Ekko Has Come Home. He Recorded His 2015 Debut Album
    Mikky Ekko has come home. He recorded his 2015 debut album, Time, in places as far-flung as London, Stockholm, and Los Angeles, plus any point on the compass where inspiration struck while he was on tour with Justin Timberlake, One Republic and Jessie Ware. But he wanted to record Fame, his next album, in the city that had proved both a permanent address and an inspiration for him since moving there in 2005 to attend college. It’s said that people have lucky cities, a geographic location where they seem to flourish or feel that they are their best selves. Although born in Shreveport, Louisiana, with its rich history of country rock and electric blues, Ekko found such a place in Nashville. It allowed him the freedom to be who he wanted to be — starting with those early gigs he played at 12th and Porter with slashes of red painted across his chiseled face. It informed the haunting music of his largely a cappella 2009 dreamscape Strange Fruit, a five-song EP he recorded while still a student at nearby Middle Tennessee State University that had far more in common with Brian Eno than it did Billie Holiday. A restless creator — sometimes writing two songs a day, starting most days at 4:45 am — Ekko quickly followed up Strange Fruit with two companion EPs the next year: Reds and Blues. One of the songs on Reds, "Who Are You, Really,” made its way to underground beatsmith Clams Casino, known mainly for his work with ASAP Rocky, Lil B and The Weeknd.
