School Characteristics School Management School Management Organisation: Under the leadership of the principal, vice-principal and senior teachers, 7 major domains are categorized under the organised structure. School Green Policy: Environmental protection has been our main concern recently. We have joined a project to learn organic farming in school. We also try to recycle food waste into fertilizers for organic farming. We implement energy-saving policy. Recycling bins are put at school corners to encourage recycling paper and plastic bottles. We also have a green lunch policy. Our lunch supplier provides re-usable lunch boxes, no disposable containers or cutlery are used. School's Major Concerns: To develop students into lifelong learners and to cultivate students' desirable moral and civic qualities. Learning and Teaching Plan Learning & Teaching Strategies: We endeavour to nurture students on the basis of their growth needs and development. The school creates diverse learning experience for students through which they are given opportunities to grow up joyfully. Apart from classroom teaching, specially designed activities and outdoor visits are provided for students. We organize camps for P.4-P.6 students each year and the introduction of interdisciplinary theme cross-subject project creates a new learning experience for P.4 students. Development of Key Tasks: 1. Through the implementation of different reading activities, students have developed the habit of reading. 2. We set up intranet learning platform for teachers and students to share learning resources and strengthen exchanges. 3. To enhance learners' motivation, project work is genuinely learner-centred. Student Support Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity: A support team is established to attend the special needs of students. We adapt the curriculum, homework and assessments for students with learning difficulties. Reading programs and remedial classes are held for these students. With small class teaching, students' individual needs can be addressed properly. Whole School Approach to Integrated Education: Our school adopt the whole school approach to integrated education. Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students: Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students' learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; and organising cultural integration activities.
