I would like to take this opportunity to thank you during this period of national lockdown and home schooling. My staff and I have been amazed by the number of children who are accessing the online learning and daily Zoom meetings. I am aware that these are very challenging times especially if you are juggling home schooling your children and working from home. As a Mum who has experienced this, I know how tough it can be but I hope you all know that you are doing an amazing job.

I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of my staff who are working hard to teach the children in school as well as the children who are learning at home.

Please remember that there are members of staff available if you need any further advice or support and this newsletter provides further details of how to make contact. Thank you again – I continue to be very proud to work in such a fantastic school and community. Mrs Foster, Head Teacher

SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

Children’s Mental Health week took place from 1st -7th February and now, more than ever, it is essential we take care of one another to protect our mental health and wellbeing. We are living in difficult times and want to support all our parents and families as much as we can. Miss Williams, our PSHE Lead has been resourcing wellbeing lessons for our pupils to take part in via google classroom and we have created a new section of the school website so that all members of our school community can access help and support. Please take a look at www.dale.derby.sch.uk/healthandwellbeing. Our Inclusion Officers are always on hand to support our families and can be contacted daily on 01332 760070. Please ask for Mrs Hazell, Ms Holness, Mr Rehman or Miss Scott. If you have suffered a bereavement or loss of any kind during the pandemic, please let a member of our staff know so that we can support your child and other family members. Mr Beattie and Mrs Hazell can be contacted by phone or via email at: [email protected].
