Templeroan View - Report from Traffic Management Meeting "That the Council's Roads engineers outline what proposals they have for changing the right-of-way at Templeroan View back to the original position which gave residents priority over school traffic and to make a report on the matter. Report – Planning permission granted on appeal on 13/08/12. No Commencement Notice received to date. Given the outcome of the appeal, the change of priority at this location is not recommended on safety grounds. It was reported that the current layout of this junction is the safest, however it was agreed that this issue would be reconsidered when construction works are complete at Sancta Maria College. The matter is being investigated. It would appear that markings and signage was put in place in consideration of the straight through nature of the access to the School car park whereas the traffic conditions would indicate that the main flow of traffic should take precedence over access to private property. The matter will be discussed with the Garda authorities before any decision is made to alter the current situation. Recommendation/Discussion at Meeting. Cllr. Cosgrave stated that it is the view of the Rathfarnahm Councillors that the priority for traffic should be changed to Templeroan View. Cllr. Cosgrave requested that drawings be prepared showing various options e.g. (removal of some of the green area), that would be necessary to take place in order to change the priority at this location, and cost for these works.
