Bickerstaffe Parish Council

I attended a Parish Meeting on the 11th July at Bickerstaffe Parish Council, Iat r. which I presented them with a cheque for £750 towards the cost of purchasing and installing six pieces of outdoor gym equipment on the Parish Field. The gym equipment will benefit the whole community by

increasing their fitness levels and bring the residents together

Presenting the cheque for £750 to the Chairman, Mrs. Hilary Rosbotham, to go towards their Outdoor Gym Equipment Project

Croston Parish Council At a meeting of Parish Council on 13th July they were grateful to accept a contribution of £550 towards the purchase of a Speed Indicator Device System.This will help to reduce the speed of motorists and improve road safety in Croston.

Street Surgery Leyland County Councillors Michael Green, Mike France and myself held a Street Surgery which took Place outside Leyland Market on Saturday 16th July 2011.

Hoghton Parish Council I was honoured to attend the meeting at Hoghton Parish Council and to present them with a grant of £500. This will help to raise funds to repair the Village War Memorial for the benefit of the residents and for future generations.

Staining Parish Council At the meeting of Staining Parish Council on the 21st July. I was pleased to offer them a cheque for £200. The money will support the "Not For Profit" show provided by the Touring Theatre Company. They will provide a live production to the rural community with the aim to help raise awareness of scams etc to the residents.

Earby Town Council On the 25th July I provided £400 from my Champion for Parishes budget to Earby Town Council to help towards the costs of purchasing a sign for outside the Council room building and to replace the notice board in the car park.

Congratulations to Earby Parish as they have been given upgrade to Town Council

Fleetwood Town Council At the Town Council meeting on the 26th July at Fleetwood Town Council, I presented a cheque to them for £500. The money will be used towards the purchase of five Notice Boards to help improve communication with the residents of the Town Council.

Newburgh Parish Council Newburgh Parish Council happily accepted a contribution of £500 towards the cost of removing the old play equipment in an redundant play area. This will clean up the unused area in the village and improve the environment.

Environmental Education Centre

The Environment Education Centre (linked to Farington WRP via an enclosed walkway

providing visitors with a bird's eye view of the process) is almost fully booked with school until October 2011. Readers are invited to use links with local schools to encourage their participation in this free service. For more information click here.
