BIOGRAPHY

Cherry Choi Tung YEUNG was born in Hong Kong, 20 years old. Cherry studies with Ida Kavafian at The . She has been admitted to the highly selective accelerated program, where she will finish both Bachelor’s and Master’s Program in 4 years. She is a scholarship recipient of the C.V. Starr Scholarship, the Herbert R. and Evelyn Axelrod Scholarship. Cherry studied with Ivan Chan before attending Juilliard. At Juilliard, Cherry studies chamber music under Joseph Kalichstein, Ronald Copes, Joel Smirnoff, Roger Tapping, Jerome Lowenthal, Natasha Brofsky. Cherry is a laureate of The Juilliard Competition, Global Academy, Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition, Hong Kong Youth String Competition, HKAPA Competition for two consecutive years. Cherry serves as concertmaster at Juilliard. Cherry has appeared in Hotchkiss Summer Portals, Heartland Chamber Music Festival, Kent Blossom Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, NYSOS, Music Academy of the

West. Cherry has performed with artists like Steven Tenenbom, Ida Kavafian, the Miami String Quartet etc. Furthermore, she has performed for distinguished artists including PHONETIC PRONOUNCIATION: Joseph Silverstein, Vadim Repin, Midori Goto, Jaime Laredo, Cho Liang Lin, Sylvia čɔy təŋ yuŋ Rosenberg, Nicola Benedetti, Ida Kavafian, Pamela Frank, , Robert Chen, Wei He. INSTRUMENT: Violin AGE: 21 INFLUENCES HOMETOWN: Hong Kong The most profound influences by far are my parents and my violin teachers Ms. Ida Kavafian and Mr. Ivan Chan.
