Footnotes ACCELERATE was well placed into the run into the first turn three to four wide, took closer order inside the half mile marker, launched a menacing move and came to level terms a quarter out, crept clear in midstretch, turned back the bid of THUNDER SNOW (IRE) with a sixteenth to run, recleared and held sway under stern urging. GUNNEVERA was bumped soundly at the start, regrouped and settled three deep, moved between horses into the far turn, tucked in past the three furlong marker, altered out and split horses entering the stretch, kicked on well but was unable to bridge the gap. THUNDER SNOW (IRE) bumped at the break, was nudged into contention along the inside, attended the pace in hand, eased out a bit leaving the second turn to advance between runners, shifted back to the inside, briefly threatened the winner inside the sixteenth pole, but was unable to go on with that one. YOSHIDA (JPN) bobbled at the start, was unhurried four wide, tracked GUNNEVERA through the second turn to range into striking position, wheeled out six wide to sustain the drive into the stretch, loomed a danger but failed to seriously sustain the threat. MENDELSSOHN was away in good order, controlled the tempo while saving ground, came under pressure while meeting multiple challengers leaving the far turn, disputed the issue to the final furlong and gave in. LONE SAILOR broke slow and steadied off heels early, lagged at the tail of the field, came under a ride with three furlongs to run, split horses approaching the stretch, angled to the outside of YOSHIDA (JPN) in the upperstretch and continued on willingly. WEST COAST was forwardly placed four wide, bid between horses near the three furlong pole, pressed the matter to inside the five-sixteenths marker and weakened. DISCREET LOVER tucked in to save ground while well back, worked his way outward in midstretch but failed to make an impact. AXELROD settled four wide, made an aggressive early move four wide, offered a mild bid five wide nearing the quarter pole, but failed to sustain the drive. PAVEL settled between foes, moved up through the far turn, steadied hard off heels nearing the quarter pole, shifted out but came up empty. MIND YOUR BISCUITS was hung five to six wide, failed to go on under pressure leaving the far turn and retreated. MCKINZIE shifted out early to stalk the pace, between horses into the far turn, vied past the five-sixteens pole and caved. CATHOLIC BOY broke slow and was bumped around, was taken four to five wide leaving the seven-eighths, was under a ride to the far turn, stopped and was eased to the wire, but walked off. ROARING LION was banged around at the start, moved into contention inside, was under the whip near the half mile pole, stopped before going seven furlongs, was distanced leaving the far turn, eased to the wire but walked off.
