During his junior and senior years at Mountain Brook High School, Relfe, now 21, said he began thinking seriously about the idea. He took several advanced placement courses, knowing that one day they would help make his dream a reality. When Relfe arrived at The University of Alabama in the fall of 2004, he knew that hiking the trail was only a matter of time. “I decided against doing the hike my freshman year. I knew that I would need to get adjusted to college life that first year,” he said. And there was another obstacle: his parents.

Bismarck’s words of May 21, 1869, were not meant to apply to fund raising, but the quote is very relevant to our cause. Every single person reading this has the power to make a difference. In this case, power involves money.

Whether it is a $20 annual gift or a $20 million transformational gift, we all have the power to help a young person succeed.

On the following pages, you will find the names of numerous individuals who have committed to the College and our cause through the Commerce Executives Society.
