♦ SCHOOL PRESENTATION Roseville High School Culinary Arts teachers Angela Ash, Jaime Jackson and Gail Johnson presented information on the culinary program at Roseville High School. A number of students attended the meeting and also spoke about the program. The students told how the program has helped them gain confidence and to learn real world skills. They also shared information on job shadowing opportunities, grant opportunities and the FHA-Hero competition. ♦ COMMUNICATIONS None.

♦ COMMENTS FROM BOARD AND STAFF The student board representative from Roseville High School said that the students at Roseville High School appreciate having the Culinary Program on campus and that the program is helping to set students on the right path. A Board member reported that he attended the Shell Eco Marathon Event where the students from Granite Bay High School showcased their car. He was happy to see the contributions from

the parents. Another Board member reported that the California Association of Bilingual Educators Conference will be held in San Francisco next March. He encouraged board and staff members to attend. A staff member thanked Roseville Secondary Education Association President Brandon Dell’Orto and his executive team for working to come to a contract agreement with the district. He said the agreement was a “win-win” for the employees and the district. Oakmont High School was congratulated on their initial Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation report. They did a “spectacular” job! Juanita Saldana and Suzanne Laughrea were thanked for the work they did in preparing for and meeting with the Latino Leadership Council. A Board member thanked the schools for providing the information on the events going on at their sites. She enjoyed attending a game at Antelope High School and the jazz concert at Woodcreek High School.
