MESSENGER/AUGUST 1993 15 BRITISH COLUMBIA Four Baptized at Rutland Nanaimo Baptism On Sabbath, June 12, 1993, the Rutland congregation witnessed the baptism of four people. Helen Szabadi was invited to attend the Leo Schreven Prophecy Seminar by her Adventist friend, Evelyn McDonald. She was deeply impressed with what she heard and purchased the tapes so that she could study further. She was convicted of the truth and is happy in her new found faith. A few days after her baptism, she returned to Hungary for a visit where she will joyfully share her faith with her relatives and friends. Bonnie Kittle, a young mother-to-be, also attended the Seminar and gave testimony of the power of Christ to change her life so dramatically. She praises the Lord for the forgiveness she received and for now being free from a life of sin. Pastor Todd Miller commented before baptizing Bonnie that this was perhaps as close as one may come to witnessing a baptism and a baby dedication in one event. Michael Kapiniak and Andrew Mallach are grade seven students at Okanagan Academy. As well as hav- ing Christian parents, they credit the teachers for their influence on their decisions to follow Jesus.

On May 9, 1993 Cynthia Paltz was baptized in the Nanaimo Church by Pastor Leif Lind. Cynthia was warmly welcomed by fellow church members and particularly by her Mt. Arrowsmith School classmates.

Pastor Todd Miller performs the baptismal rite for Bonnie Kittle, Andrew Mallach and Michael Kapiniak. Helen Szabadi was baptized by Pastor H. Reimche.
