The Mocs are coming off a 3-8 campaign, but rode a wave of improvement, resulting in wins in two of the last three games.

UTC was picked in the middle of the pack in the Southern Conference in 2018 by the league’s coaches. The media who cover the SoCon gave UTC a sixth-place nod in the preseason polls. Samford led the way in both polls, followed by Furman and Wofford. Mercer and Western Caro- lina are also expected to have strong teams who could battle for a title.

Chattanooga placed six on the 2018 Coaches Preseason All-SoCon Team. Senior Isaiah Mack led the way on the first team defensive unit. He was a sec- ond team All-SoCon choice a year ago. Excitement continues to surround the Chattanooga Mocs as they head into the 2018 season Sophomore Brandon Dowdell was also with head coach Tom Arth. The Mocs have a group of talented returners and a strong incoming on the first team as a return specialist. class as they look to get back on top of the Southern Conference.
