• "Our Built Heritage": Photos and details of 1878 houses that are still standing along Main and Union Streets; as identified from the 1878 Halfpenny Atlas of the Douglas Road (Union/Main Street) • "The Douglas Boom" - A 13-page chronicle of the Boom industry that employed 250 men on the St. John River. Logs were boomed for the 7 miles from behind York Manor to the Keswick Apple Exchange and sent down the river to sell in England and the USA. Maps & Photos of Homes, groups of workers, boom tools, and much more. • "Growing Up In Nashwaaksis" - Judy (Johnston) Bird tells her story of growing up on Main Street in Nashwaaksis. Her father's family store was on MacDonalds, current site and the family home was torn down to make way for the Irving Gas Bar. Pictures of the home, store, family, friends, and happenings on Main Street. • "The Church and it’s Bell. St. John the Evangelist, Anglican Church, Nashwaaksis". Two stories; one of the church and one on how its bell got there; with photos. • "Reflections on Miss Mary Grannan" - Eleanor (Monteith) Stillwell tells of her 1940 experiences with Mary Grannan as her teacher and as an actor in one of Mary Grannan's plays. Mary Grannan was a Devon School Teacher in the 1930s, who moved to Toronto to write CBC Radio & TV shows for children. Most notable was the Just Mary books and the Maggie Muggins TV shows. Grannan was prominent in both the Canadian and US communications industry. • "The "Little Cross Church" at Lower St. Mary’s" - A brief history of the church, with pictures. • "Marysville Cotton Mill Payroll 1954" - Reproduced actual payroll pages for January 1954, the date of payroll when the Mill was closed by Canadian Cottons. Names, rates of pay, and work locations of 480 employees. All communities of the 'North Side,' and most families had some relative or close friend who worked in "The Mill." • "Members & Activities" - Photos of participants at Heritage Associations previous February Heritage Days. • "Barker's Point & Lower St. Mary's" - Enlarged and detailed 1878 Halfpenny Atlas from selected areas of Lower St. Mary's and Barker's Point. Sufficiently detailed that you can read the individual property or home owner's names. • "The Douglas School, 138 years of Operation" - A brief history of the oldest operating school in Canada, which was provided by the committee that was attempting to keep the school in operation. Since the article was written, the Minister of Education has chosen to close the school. • Back Cover: A 1920s photo with approximately 150 of the Boom Workers.
