BRAZELLFIELD

Grand Canyon College's Brazell Field has become one of Arizona 's finest baseball parks. In keeping with the growth of the baseball program, this season the 'Lopes sport a new outfield fence including a " batter 's eye" in centerfield . The height of the fence reaches 24' in centerfield with the left field side of the fence at 16' high. Rightfield remains virtually unchanged from past years and is 8' high . While the addition of the scoreboard-message center in 1981 helped bring out the " ball park" look, this new addition really empha sizes the look of the facility as a "park" and not just another baseball field .

Grand Canyon's baseball park is named after Dr. Dave Brazell. His name is almost synonymous with baseball at Grand Canyon , Coach Brazell guided the Antelope baseball program from the early days, right up to a National Championship in 1980. Brazell is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame, and was a two time winner of the NAIA's Baseball Coach of the Year Award .
