Man shot dead by SUV-riding gunmen in Maasin City TACLOBAN CITY-A 35-year old man was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen onboard a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Maasin City, Southern Leyte last November 17, 2020. Police identified the victim as Nhiel Sansan, married, self-employed, and a resident of Ba- rangay Ibarra, Maasin City. In an initial investigation, Sansan was wait- ing for the mechanics to repair his driven tricy- cle inside a vulcanizing shop in Barangay Ibarra around 9:30 am when two unidentified male suspects alighted from an SUV and shot him using long firearms. The victim was hit several times in his head, shoulder, arm, chest, and left foot that resulted in his instantaneous death, police said in the re- port. The gunmen immediately fled towards the direction of Macrohon town, it added. Police collected 28 pieces of fired cartridges and one slug fragment in the scene.
