A General Meeting of Glyn Tarell Community Council was held on Tuesday 20th May 2014 at Libanus Chapel at 7:30pm.

Mr M Keylock took the chair and opened the meeting by welcoming all Councillors to the meeting.

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

The minutes of the last meeting had been circulated and were signed by the Chair as a true and correct record of proceedings.

ANY UNRESOLVED MINUTES OR MATTERS

a) Libanus Playing Field lease - The clerk had contacted Mr Graham Eales to be told that his colleagues hadn’t got back to him with their views but he would chase them and be in contact shortly.

b) Purchase of Telephone Kiosk Libanus – Mr P Cravos had received an Email from BBNPA stating that if the kiosk was used as an information point planning permission was not required. However there were other conditions to be considered – the clerk was requested to place on the June agenda for further discussion before going ahead with the purchase.

c) Council Logo – The show secretary will put it on the next show meeting agenda – after informal discussion with Mr P Cravos it was thought to have a junior and senior competition sponsored by the Council being £12 in total. It would be judged by the show judge and it should be stated that the winning entry may not be adopted by the Council.

d) Reinstating area at Storey Arms – Mr P Cravos had attended an Open Day. He was told that there were plans in place to provide parking space for 250 cars and reinstating the area.

e) Mr Tom Addey – A response had been received giving details of the new Regeneration Manager, Jenni Thomas who will be contacting the Council shortly.

ITEMS RAISED BY COUNCILLORS

a) The absence of crash barriers on A470 towards Storey Arms – Cllr L Fitzpatrick will take this forward in arranging a meeting with North Wales Trunk Road Agency, Ms K Williams AM and others b) Lighting on junction with A40 - Cllr L Fitzpatrick will take this forward in arranging a meeting with North Wales Trunk Road Agency, Ms K Williams AM and others c) Maintenance of snow barriers on Beacons - Cllr L Fitzpatrick will take this forward in arranging a meeting with North Wales Trunk Road Agency, Ms K Williams AM and others. d) Progress with flood prevention in Llanspyddid – Mrs P Hill is awaiting a report from Simon Crowther Assistant Land Drainage Officer Powys CC e) Path from Llanspyddid to Brecon– Mrs P Hill has letters of concern from residents and is awaiting others. When these are received the Council will write a letter. f) Mrs P Hill gave a brief update on the Llanspyddid Playing Field project. The Lottery application had failed which left £1900 shortfall. g) The new Notice Board at Llanspyddid is still not in place – the clerk was asked to keep chasing Mr Strangward for a timescale for this. h) Grass Cutting – In the absence of a new tender it was proposed by Mr P Cravos and seconded by Mr A Stroud to ask Mr T G Phillips to keep cutting the grass until the next meeting.

DATE OF THE NEXT GENERAL MEETING

There being no further business to discuss, it was agreed that the Council would hold their next meeting on Tuesday 17th June 2014 at Libanus Chapel.

The meeting was formally closed by the Chairman at 9.10 pm.
