Qualifications:

I have been registered as a Professional Geoscientist (PGeo) in since 1996.

From 1999 to 2012 I was the Head Scientist for the Watershed Authorities and the Skeena Fisheries Commission. During this period, I supervised approximately 100 projects in the Skeena Valley, in fisheries biology, stock assessment and salmonid habitat. I am a member of the Northern Boundary Technical Committee of the Pacific Salmon Commission and the salmon section of the Fisheries and Oceans Pacific Scientific Advice Review Committee.

As part of the Skeena Fisheries Commission, I have been responsible for planning and training for throughout the Skeena Watershed. For the past nine years I have been the chairman of the Skeena Fisheries Commission Technical Committee, responsible for management biology on BC’s north coast.

I taught watershed management, hydrology, geomorphology, environmental studies, aboriginal resource management, natural resource planning, geology, and biology at colleges and universities for twenty-eight years. I instructed advanced undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of California, the University of Alberta, and the University of Northern British Columbia.
