Known for its flat terrain, covering much of Limassol’s picturesque coastal road, it is an ideal event for runners of all levels, and a perfect opportunity for serious runners to achieve their personal best. The OPAP Limassol Marathon offers six race distances, including the professionally accredited full and LIMASSOL CARNIVAL half marathon races, the 10K Energy Race, the 5K City Race, and the 5K Corporate Race. An explosion of fun and color, the Limassol Carnival is certainly a sight to behold. It starts 10 days before Lent, when musicians and dancers fill the streets and squares, and dress-up parties are hosted across town, and culminates in the big Sunday Parade, a day before the start of Lent. The day-long event takes place all along RUSSIAN-CYPRIOT FESTIVAL Makarios Avenue in Limassol, with revelers dancing away all through the night. For the past 12 years, the Russian Embassy in Cyprus, the Limassol Municipality and the Russian newspaper Vestnik Kipra combine forces to organize the biggest event in the EU dedicated to friendship with Russia.
