GP5 monoclonal antibody, clone GeneID: 2814

CLB-SW16 Symbol: GP5

Catalog Number: MAB5254 Gene Alias: CD42d

Regulation Status: For research use only (RUO) Gene Summary: Human glycoprotein V (GP5) is a part of the Ib-V-IX system of surface glycoproteins Product Description: Mouse monoclonal antibody that constitute the receptor for raised against native GP5. (VWF; MIM 193400) and mediate the adhesion of to injured vascular surfaces in the arterial Clone Name: CLB-SW16 circulation, a critical initiating event in hemostasis. The Immunogen: Native purified GP5 from human platelets. main portion of the receptor is a heterodimer composed of 2 polypeptide chains, an alpha chain (GP1BA; MIM Host: Mouse 606672) and a beta chain (GP1BB; MIM 138720), that are linked by disulfide bonds. The complete receptor Reactivity: Human complex includes noncovalent association of the alpha and beta subunits with platelet glycoprotein IX (GP9; Applications: Flow Cyt, IF MIM 173515) and GP5. Mutations in GP1BA, GP1BB, (See our web site product page for detailed applications and GP9 have been shown to cause Bernard-Soulier information) syndrome (MIM 231200), a bleeding disorder.[supplied by OMIM] Protocols: See our web site at http://www.abnova.com/support/protocols.asp or product page for detailed protocols

Specificity: The monoclonal antibody is directed against the 82 kD GP V antigen, which is expressed on human platelets. The monoclonal antibody reacts with human platelet. It has been shown that the glycoproteins GP V and GPIb-GP IX form a noncovalent complex in the platelet membrane. The monoclonal antibody does not react with lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes and erythrocytes. Antigen is expressed on human platelets and megakaryocytes. The antigen is absent or present in very low levels on platelets of patients with the Bernard-Soulier syndrome.
