THE HENLEY MILE is a 1 mile straight line, downstream swimming event, held over the course. It provides a unique opportunity to swim one of the most famous and beautiful stretches of open water in the world. Event Sponsor This family event, which is held throughout the day, also features The Henley Half Mile swim and The Henley Splash (200m). The event also features the popular Suits v Skins Charity Partner categories with elites competing for cash prizes, along with the Big River Jump..

EVENT DETAILS Date: Sunday 10th July 2016 Henley Mile Categories: Location: Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames Elite & Suits v Skins - Men & Women (swim twice, wetsuit and non- wetsuit) Register: From 7.00am Open – Men & Women Start Time: The First Wave is at 9.00am Traditional – Men & Women (non-wetsuit - FINA rules suits apply) Masters 45-54 – Men & Women (on the day of the race) Course: This unique straight-line, downstream point-to - Masters 55 and above – Men & Women (on the day of the race) point swim, (ie: no turns) takes advantage of the boomed Junior – Men & Women aged 14 to 17 (on the day of the race) course of the Henley Royal Regatta. SUITS VS SKINS - CATEGORY

The Suits vs Skins Category is a key part of the Henley Mile. This is an opportunity to swim the mile twice. In wetsuits in the morning and non-wetsuit in the afternoon.

Timing & Results: Both swims will be electronically timed, with the cumulative totals being combined to give the overall finishing position, with details of individual times showing which swim was the fastest overall. There will be suits vs skins categories for men, women, junior men, junior women.

THE HENLEY HALF MILE ADULT & JUNIOR This is a downstream swim over the Henley Regatta boomed course, finishing at Temple Island Meadows. THE HENLEY SPLASH

THE HENLEY SPLASH Distance: 200m

Age limits: For boys and girls from 8 to 12 years (on the day of the race). Split into under 8 to 10 and 11 to 12 age groups.

Swimmer Competence: Entrants should be capable of swimming 20 lengths without stopping. All entrants should be comfortable treading water in the deep end of a swimming pool.

Wetsuit requirement: Non compulsory for all races.
