SVP Broadcast Microwave’s camera link is the best solution for live transmission of news, sport events, eld and studio productions.

Professionals rely on SVP’s technology as it has always had an excellent performance on eld. SVP´s Camera link system o ers ultra low delay with full broadcast 4K quality performance.

In the site the lightweight and sturdy UDT-02 HEVC camera transmitter and the AVF exible omnidirectional are used.

In the reception site diversity receiver UDR-108 is used together with the sector or multisector antennas developed by SVP.

BENEFITS

In transmission, SVP o ers 4K and HD camera . All our transmitters perform DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-S and DVB-S2 modulations. They allow simultaneous terrestrial and satellite transmission and the ultra-wide band is from 1.0 to 8.0 GHz for 4k H.265 systems and from 1.0 to 6.4 GHz for HD H.264 systems, allowing the operation in many countries all around the world with one unique equipment.

In the reception site our receivers integrate COFDM and spatial diversity based on MRC (Maximum Ratio Combining) technique, which reduces the e ects of multipath and fading losses. The receivers are designed to perform DVB-T2, DVB-T and ISDB-T demodulation and HEVC, H.264 and Mpeg-2 decoding.

In reception we obtain several outputs which are all o ered simultaneously: analogue video, Transport Stream over IP, 3G/SD/HD-SDI and HDMI outputs.

ASI and Transport Stream over IP inputs enable the use of our receivers as standalone decoders and the ASI and the Transport Stream over IP outputs enable their use as demodulators.

La Vuelta is one of the leading cycling races in the international calendar. 21 stages, three weeks of competition between August and September, and more than 3000 km covering the Spanish geography.

In order to provide RF coverage of a long distance event, multiple aerial and ground assets are used, including four motorcycles with a cameraman, two Cine ex helicopters, three relay helicopters and one relay airplane.

This race presents many challenges due to the long distances of coverage and obtructions such as tunnels and trees.

SIT SPORTS provides equipment for one cine ex helicopter, one relay helicopter and one relay plane. SIT SPORTS chose the HDT-02 transmitter, PA-10 power amplier and GPS tracking system developed by SVP. This system uses DVB-T2 modulation oering a reliable and robust system for transmissions ground to air, air to air and air to ground. The DVB-T2 in combination with NTT H.264 encoder oers the best signal quality at the lowest bitrate, obtaining very long distances of coverage with high stability of the signal.

SIT SPORTS has worked with SVP Broadcast Microwave in events throughout Europe and South America. They use SVP products on a weekly basis for small and big events, mainly of them are sport events but also conferences, news or events for security departments.

“For us it is important to make a di erence, something that we have obtained thanks to the DVB-T2. Thanks to SVP products we have achieved great reliability and quality in each event, which has placed us in a good position in the market of broadcast transmissions.”

www.svpbm.com 13 Tahiti Nui Va'a 2019

Tahiti Nui Va'a is a Polynesian canoe race (va'a) which brings together, every two years, the best athletes of this discipline for a tour of the island of Tahiti in three days. The event is divided into three stages ranging in length from 50 to 70 km.

This type of transmissions over the sea have an added di culty, since the sea acts as an RF , the and ripples of the water cause the RF signals to be reected in an innite number of disruptive forms, therefore it is very important to have a diversity reception system based on the DVB-T2, which oers really good results against bounced signals.

TNTV uses ve transmission kits distributed between three boats and one relay boat, and a total of ten receivers working in diversity. They use dierent models of SVP transmitters as they need to be exible and adapt to the dierent events that this broadcasts along the year. For this reason, TNTV uses HDT-02 camera transmitters in combination with an external power ampliers in the boats and also compact HDT-04 high power transmitters or HDT-70 portable transmitters. In reception, they use HDR-106 diversity receivers.

In this type of events, where the eect of the sea on the RF is unpredictable, it is important to take into account the antennas that are used, that is why TNTV opted for yagui high gain directional antennas in combination with other panel antennas working in diversity, obtaining an adequate coverage area in each stage.

Tahiti Nui Television (or TNTV) is the rst television channel in French Polynesia in terms of audience, they have been working with SVP Broadcast Microwave products over the last 10 years.

“I thank SVP Broadcast Microwave for the quality and stability of the system in DVB T2 during the race of canoes in French Polynesia with distances of 54 km without RF cuts and a perfect reception in FULL HD 1080I and 10 Mbps. ”

www.svpbm.com 14 COMPARISON WITH OTHER SYSTEMS

This graph shows the di erences between several systems which are employing di erent transmission standards and the advantages of DVB-T2 over DVB-T and ISDB-T.

As shown, the results in DVB-T2 are much better than in other standards with closest results to the Shannon limit.

SVP Broadcast Microwave employs DVB-T2 obtaining e ective and reliable results and o ering the clients the best possible solution.
